Anyone else see this glitch?

Ok, So I'm Kurzich faction farming the Duel of the Houses quest. I have ~7k faction with kurzichs at the time, and 0 with luxon.

I forgot to get keys in the academy, and a gold chest is there, so I say, let me talk to the Merchant by the rez point and buy one really quick before we zone back in (I usually use these rez spot merchants anyway, because they ae conveniently placed).

I run up and talk to him and he says "I don't talk to barbarians like yourself" and I tryed again and he said something like "Why don't you try some other merchant, you luxon" or something like that.

Basically that merchant is Bugged and considered me Luxon even when i had LOADS more kurzich faction.

I had to miss out on that gold chest, and buy my keys in the academy because of this bug....

He wont talk to you unless you are a Kurzick. And the only way to become one (im pretty sure, cause this happened in my case) is to get 10k kurzick faction which you said you dont. Faction Farming time for some1 :P


Oops forgot to mention its not a glitch, just a way to stop people from not playing the game

The 10k faction quest has nothing to do with your alignment; only the current amounts of faction you have affect it. Whichever one you have more of you're aligned with.

I don't know what happened in your case Former; probably just an anomaly if it doesn't happen again.

I should have said - I've already beaten the game as a Kurzich on the character...I've had over 70k Kurzich faction. I Faction Farm for Ambers (which I did say).

And I know that Kurzich merchants only talk to people with more kurzich faction - Thats why i said I had 7k Kurzich faction and 0 Luxon.

i think it was just an odd thing to happen, cause it isnt doing it anymore, but it picked a fine time to do it...Anet needs to check on their NPCs.

That's been like that since the FPE. If you have more than about 500 faction with one group, the other group won't give you the time of day.

Which, you know, goes along with their story.

So, I guess I could sum up your problem by saying "That's not a bug, it's a feature."

I Said That I had 7k KURZICH Faction and the KURZICH merchant wouldn't talk to me. only that ONE merchant was doing it - all others talked to be just fine.

im not positive on this but i know if there is a priest there and you bribe him you can then talk to merchant-im not sure of that area but on the luxon side i was able to bribe priest and then buy stuff from merchant .does't explain the bug though but you could of gotten in that chest if there was a priest by the merchant.
