Articles said that there are (i'll say supposed) 2 new professions for C3 which is still unnamed (though whois and trademark offices showing NCsoft registered and trademarked "Guild Wars: Nightfall"), what's your take or idea on what the 2 new profs will be? Assuming there will be 2 new profs

My take:
1 prof could be taken from the Pharaohs.
another prof (#2) could be taken from the so-called "avatars" (avatars of the gods/goddesses).

How about you?

I think there is no good reson to have another 2 profesions that soon.

Unless Anet wants to rip off PvP players by placing some uber skills that wil own in PvP, no pvp player will really show intrests in the new profesions.

And let's face it. The pvp community still didn't find real good uses for assasins and ritualists. Althou slowly the new proffesions we got find their place in diffrent builds.

For pve, i dont really see what great benefit we had from having assasins. Ritualists have more respect since their skills are more focused on defense, thus making them a close friend of monks (remeber, in the little guide book, monks are the "official guild wars support proffesion who will never have problems finding a group").

The bottom line is that new proffesion are only needed to balance out things in pvp. I dont see how ritualists/assasins balanced the current metagame. If some former "uber" builds are hard/impossible to run is because of the new skills for the old proffesions.

As for the new proffesions in ch3, I don't care if we got to have tengu and yeti as new professions. I'm sick of all the "eye-candy" professions. If it's just a marketing strategy (wich I think it will be) than it's just not the thing that turns me on. I expect excellent content, well formed and usefull proffesions.

I would rather like this
"we need more money to keep the servers up, pay us XX every 6 months and you`ll also get this new area for free"

than

"zomg, you get these l337, good looking, 5 skill proffesions to annoy you with their nonsense".

Shaman and Spearman.

New proffession is needed mainly as an attraction. People always want to play new character and wear new style or armor. With out new prof, I would imagin the game would not be sold as much, or people would not be as much as interested.

For PvP, I am sure new role will develop as player find more use or counter use for each differnt proffessions. But more so, I want to see new type of PvP play.

The 1up article also talked about some sort of bare-nuckle fighter.

Oh come on that's so not true, assassin and ritualist are fine. Why would they need to be good for all occasions? I havent played them in 8v8 but in RA they are good, in TA they are good too but require more planning. Besides, they look cool and are fun, why would every new class need to be ele-version or warrior variation.
Assassins are also fun, i've seen tons of crappy assassins because they play em like WMo, but few good assassins which learned how to play em, kinda impressed me with quick kill.

Ninja? - Similar to Assasin, but wouldnt fit the theme.
Summoner? - Could cast movable minions, cross between Rit and Necro
Spearman? - Could use melee spear or throwing spear
Priest? - Talks with the gods
Boxer? - Fights with hands
Engineer? - Builds things on the spot
Fortune Teller? - Uses Tarot Cards of some sort

It won't matter because...

Aside from the core classes the new ones will just be rehashes or crosses between them.

Each new class will have a knock down/condition/hex and won't do anything as well as the original classes.

Isn't it kind of early for speculation on this? It's just going to end up to be a bunch of veiled racism.

doubt very much that there will be new proffesions for a very long time.

the game has enough profs already .. Assassins and Ritualists are even useless to me, just there to help selling Factions

the more u add skills / profs, the more u increase unbalance probablilty especially for pvp players

leave it as it is

adding new profs d be more sought after for new new skins than real play
so, character customization d be more appropriate

wanna see a "bare-nuckle fighter." ? think about the skills it ll need to see play, compared to the Warrior ^^

u ll probably end up with a char played a lot for the first 2 weeks cuz it's new
(look at the Assassin)

I'd like cool stuff like new attribute and skill lines for existing classes. As I suggested before, a class similar to the tarot uses in Jojo's Bizarre Adventure, however I could see some rather incovenient law mumbo jumbo that'd come along with that too.

I have another two suggestions. An Assassin and a Ritualist, the Assassin's skills are meant to get it, let off their chain before getting out again and the Ritualists are the opposite of Mesmers, instead of Debuffers, they're buffers. And yeah.... Oh wait...

Playing an assasin in GvG is fun, plus you are hardky ever killed. my favorite part is to pickoff the ones venturing to far from the herd. another thing fun is take out there NPCs and clear a path for your fellow teammates.

So yeah an Assasin is fun and helpful but you will hardly ever need more than one.

They cant have too many new professions without it just being a ripoff of a profession thats already here.

Ritualists are already cutting it close...

So, "we" don't want new professions cause it might unbalance PvP? Sorry, don't agree with that. New professions add some fun and if some don't like the class, others might.

If Anet stops adding anything due to the possiblity of PvP unbalance, they might as well stop now cause adding anything at all, has that chance.

I personally would love to see a bare knuckle fighter or spear fighter. Also, would love to see:

Two handed swords/axes.
Maces.
Dual wielding of swords.
Crossbows.

One E3 article writer (can't remember if it was actiontrip or some other) mentioned that one of the C3 Profession looked like witchdoctor. But that was only his opinion from the concept art.

I would almost bet that one of the next professions will be a Bard of some sort. They already expanded upon the concept of Ranger spirits in Factions (i.e. Ritualists), so you can bet that they'll expand on Warrior shouts (i.e. Bard songs) in the next.

I think Guildwars has more than enough professions right now. Unless they come up with something very unique and distinct. I would much rather they spend time and effort on fleshing out the existing classes. For example they could add another skill line to warriors that would deal with weaponless combat or add a new weapon for the ranger (crossbow for example that would do more damage but have a slower firing rate).

I have grown fond of my existing characters and I want to spend time developing them further.

I get this image in my head of a player singing a song and the animation plays /guitar while in battle. Besides being very different and funny looking, that would be fun. lol

To be frank, neither of them even make remote sense.

I would guess Bards and Druids.

Far as proffesion we have cover mosted of the basic area. I have planed for a support stat buffing proffesion. Such as a Samurai skills and attirbutes inspired by the story of Sanada Nobushige(Yukimura) I will psot it ocne i have it all down and planed out.

But other than that theres not much anet can do now. I also got an idea for a fist fighter. They should have called monks preist consideirng they look like shoulin
