the first response is always automated.

answer that this did not solve my problem to get a tech.

this answer has to be made in less than 24 hours or it is closed as solved and you have to start over with a fresh ticket.

I'll translate:

Greetings, I have recently begun having problems whenever I attempt to log into Guild Wars. When I enter my log in information, I receive an error code number 021, which is the account not found error. Before this I had been having problems with the way in which the game plays smoothly, and thus I accredited the problems to this. After trying without avail I filled out a support request, and promptly sent it to Area Net, the trusted name in computer games. Unfortunately the only reply I have recieved as of now is one saying that I should re-enter my Factions CD key, which I have done already. Needless to say I am a bit perturbed (sp?) especially since i've just purchased Factions and would like to finish my Obsidian armor, which i've almost completed. Please oh intelligent ones, solve my woes before I do something moronic.

Happy? Had a bit of fun with certain parts, as you can tell.

I had the same problem during the FPE, in reallity though my account got hacked, the same might have happened for you, but I recomend you call Anet, They will ask you to Fax a copy of your CD-Key insert, and within a few hours your account will be restored, thats what happend for me, Anet has pretty good tech support, give it a try.

I was in the same shoes as Knight Of Morion. I too had my account hacked and I did not DL any 3rd party progs.. I think it was a P2P hack that did not need the help of the non existant 3rd party progs. It can happen.. it does happen... and it should stop. So netniwk i feel for ya if you got innocently hacked. At least they left me w/ one char

Hi Netniwk.

Sorry to hear about this error your recieving. Try these steps listed below, they may seem simple (sometimes so simple they go un-noticed):

1- Enter your E-mail application, or site (such as MSN Hotmail), copy your E-mail address from somewhere inside the app/site, and paste it into the Log in box.

2- Once you're absolutely 100% certain your E-mail is correct, enter MS Word, or even Notepad. Type your Password here, make sure its correct and Copy it and then Paste it into the Log in box.

I once entered my E-mail wrong atleast 10 times before, and I didn'y notice I was mixing up my I's with my T's .

I'm not sure about the whole "Anet deleting accounts" business so I wont say anything about this.

It could be a stolen account. If this is the case obviously no one can help (Unless your Ticket gains the attention of a "Tech"). "Key-logging" is a popular way of Account/Password/Vital Info. stealing, so heres a tip to avoid this in future:

1. Right-click on your Guild Wars shortcut Icon.
2. Click the 'Shortcut' Tab at the top of the window.
3. In the 'Target:' Field, enter whats in the code box below:
Code:
"C:\Program Files\Guild Wars\Gw.exe" -password=*cobra*
Note: in the code I just mentioned, the *cobra* is just an example password. Enter your real password here, without the *.
So if my password was garrett_gwguru, then the code would be:
Code:
"C:\Program Files\Guild Wars\Gw.exe" -password=garrett_gwguru
4. Press OK.

This automatically logs you in when you enter Guild Wars without you having to type in your Password. Don't forget to check the 'Remember Account Name' box on the Log in window.

Hope this helps.

Well I just tried adding Ugh the crazed monk to my friends list and it let me add you so I guess the account is not deleted. You were offline which I suppose is better than you being online if you can't log in.

GL, hope you get the problem sorted

I've recieved that error 21 a few times, and it has been unrelated to ACTUALLY having a deleted acct... If for some reason the ANet account database times out due to (and I know that this seems wholely unlikely) LAG... You will get this error. Try again in a few minutes.
Alternately, and this might explain the 8 year old language, the account is on a PREVIEW KEY!!!!! and is no longer accessible.

Try this (this is how I have mine setup and it works fine): "C:\Program Files\Guild Wars\Gw.exe" -password "insert password here"

Useful piece of info, Anyone know the syntax for user name selection? 3 different accounts, was going to create 3 different shortcuts with the user names in each so that I could log onto any of the accounts via shortcut.

Hi,

Since we are talking about stolen and/or hacked GW acoounts, you have to know that saving both your account name AND password on your computer can be very dangerous.
You're trying to put both account name and password into a shortcut that is placed on your Desktop. You'd be surprised to know how easy it is for a hacker to get to that information. In my opinion, the above suggested way of starting GW is just asking for trouble.

Even if you only save the password into your GW shortcut, the game itself will remember your account name. There you have it, if somebody knows where to look,
they'll get your account name and password very easily, no keylogger needed!

The best is just to type in your password by hand, it won't take that long, and it gives you a bit of extra security.

Just my 2 cents.

But, a keylogger is much easier to pick up then a random hacker.

Account not found: maybe you were hacked, and the hacker changed the email address accociated with your account. Entirely possible, and it would say "account not found" even tho it exists

Yeah man you've got to look out for those hackers risking jail time and fines who just go around hacking random peoples guildwars accounts!

Accounts don't get hacked. Anyone with the actual resources and skill to hack into an account is spending his resources and skills on something that actually means something. Some idiot downloading a keylogger isn't getting hacked, you chose to download it when you googled "Guildwars Dupe Hack" or whatever the f**k it was.

I hate people, I'm going to become a hermit.

You don't think someone can hack someone's account, even w/ "thier resources" and what if hacking into someone's acct meant something to that hacker?

If you irritate the wrong person ingame.. and that person knew said skills then it could be likely that such a person could hack into your account.. kinda takes the randomness away.. from the hacker's pov..

It sucks... and starting fresh sucks too but i believe it can happen.

no one would be able to take your password unless you let them on your computer such as a friend or family member. i personally don't believe that people with the actual skills to hack themselves and not use ready-made 'hacks' (keyloggers, trojans, etc) are out to get your guild wars account, it would be much more self-benifitting for them to steal your identity or something else of the sort, which they would have access to anyways if your stupid enough. The only thing that you would have to be worried about is that you actually use the same password and username for everything so they could check your e-mail and password for guildwars and perhaps find your online bank account. but once again, they wouldn't check your shortcut unless they knew to look there, therefore don't tell anyone you know on a personal basis and you shouldn't have to worry.

>edit<

on a side note, i know several people who don't have to use ready-made hacks but they only use their skills if you tick them off, and if you successfully do that, i assure you they are not after your guild wars account.

Just for craps and giggles as i used to be a hacker and have a thorough understanding of how these things work

How the heck can you say that a person could retrieve the "target info " from a shorcut remotlely?

imo it cant be done

If you would like a resume google djvandal not my best work however 2 years after i quit they are still there and alot of them

is his/her #1 tool

that said if all a person ahs in there bag of tricks they probly didnt code the keylogger wich means mom or dad bought it so they could steal your infos
