Like walking on a tread-mill
Fractal Star
Its the only way i can describe it. The bodily movement and speed of my toon is normal but just dosent seem to cover much ground... Like walking on a tread-mill, or the wrong way up an escalator - you choose the simile. Either way its bloody annoying.
Anyone know what's up?

It's nice to hear that I am not the only one that has been experiencing this. If anyone has a clue as to what the heck is going on please fill us in.

Yeah im getting this too, really long lag. Ive logged out and reset my connection, but now i can't get past the long in screen. Just hangs after choosing my toon.
Meh, its obviously server side, so will be just some alterations i should think.

Its not like normal lag though, everything else seems to be going at normal speed - just my toon doesnt go anywhere fast. Real pain in the ass, its stopped me from playing completely cause im sure the monsters are going at normal speed. Its like trying to play with a permanent ethereal burden on me. Gah!
Celes Tial
I believe this issue is called 'rubberbanding', and I experience it as well.
Snype
everyone in Canthan towns is getting it basically. What do you do to stop it? Stay in the international districts whenever possible. 100% lag free
The Great Al
stay out of district 1, if possible, especially in house zu heltzer
Fractal Star
Im getting this everywhere, thought initally that it would just be in the main districts, but its not, its everywhere!!!! Even the district 3's and 4's and also when in an instance.

Sounds like high packet loss.
I have no problems in any town in any district on my LAN connection, but I also frequently play on wireless. Occasionally the signal will weaken, my packet loss skyrockets and I get the treadmill.
A few weeks back my toon would just stop moving entirely, so maybe they've upgraded the motion estimation to cope better with packet loss but now we get the treadmill...
If you're not on wireless I would try to check the error rate on your broadband.

Just read this thread http://www.guildwarsguru.com/forum/s....php?t=3030662
The issue there may not be the cause of your problems, but it does suggest the packet loss could be out of your control.
