Broadsword can't be dyed O_o i tried it

I tried to dye the broadsword but came up with nothing, it just wouldnt take the dye... it wasnt a green one either.

Now I can understand the thing would be hard to see died if you ever seen the broadswords, its all blade and a tiny handle.

But what I can't see is why you can't dye that tassle that hangs from the end of the handle, i mean i could have SWORN i seen tassles of different colors, but from what it looks like it will stay white.

Anyone got some info on this if I am mistaken?
