I'm running a level 13 R/E, and my energy seem sstuck at 25. Is there any way to increase my base value, or is equipment my only hope of adding a few points?

The only class that can increase base energy is an elementalist primary through energy storage. Equipment is the only way to go.

But expertise is a fantastic Primary attribute. You can use a druids set, and a +5 energy bow to actually increase your energy pool....but what are you trying to do with it?

Use druids armor, pack an energy management skills, or, most simply, increase your expertise.

Equipment and glyphs. Use lesser energy for those big casts, and avoid exhaustion if possible. Get a +15 staff or +5 wand with a 12 or higher off hand. My question is, what the hell are you trying to cast that you need so much energy for? Rangers are not meant to be nukers and such.

Probably just struggling with 10e skills from his Ranger profession, because of little to no Expertise.

ChaoticCoyote: go with full Druid's Armor (32 mana, a must) and 9, 12 or 13 in Expertise. You will be able to once you're level 20 with both quests done for skill points. Just know that every level in Expertise makes your skills 4% less energy-consuming. You can find information about it in Guildwiki for example.

"Expertise reduces the energy costs of all non-spell skills from any profession at a rate of 4% per point. Attacks, Glyphs, Nature Rituals, Preparations, Stances, Shouts and Traps are affected. This also affects Necromancer touch skills and Ritualist Binding Rituals."

I was distracted...

I am now an R/E 17, and I use some elementalist spells that cost 25 to cast. These are *support* spells for special situations, not my main offense. I have managed to get things working fairly well with a Druid's set and a good expertise to keep the cost of my Ranger spells down.
