Well, most people prefer the 15>50 unless you run in certain builds which extensively use stances or enchantments. As for the armor... I believe the energy one is most popular although +10 while attacking can be nice if you don't know what you're doing and you get caught being ganked in melee combat without a teleport...

As many others have already noted, 15>50 is the preferred mod for general purposes unless you run exclusively stance or enchantment builds.
As for the 15 always, I'd recommend the -5 energy negative over the -10 armor while attacking. You can more than make up the -5 energy loss with Shrouded (Energy) armor and a Zealous tang. The -10 armor negative mod can be deadly to an attacking assassin whose armor tops off at 70AL. If you go with the -10 armor daggers, be sure to get armor to compensate.
When it comes to armor, go with the mask of your primary attribute, then Shrouded (Energy) top, leggings, and glove or boots. If you go with, say, the energy boots, then go with the Nightstalker (+10AL w/Attacking) gloves. That way, you get a healthy energy bonus, and you at least get the benefit of +10 armor while Attacking from one piece of armor at a sacrifice of only 1 energy (which you would have gotten if you had gone with Shrouded instead of Nightstalker).
And, I've got to agree with above posters regarding the Zealous tangs, and the Fortitude or Defense handles. The assassin's fast attacks in combination with the Zealous mod help with energy upkeep. The Fortitude and Defense mods help make up for the assassin's weak armor. Someone also mentioned Vampiric tangs for damage. And, on balance, vamp > sundering, because vamp is guaranteed to do extra damage by sapping health from your foe each hit and healing you at the same time. With sundering, you're talking about a 1 in 5 chance of doing something like +4 dmg. But noobs eschew vampiric mods because, ZOMG, my vampiric daggers are killing me! (That's why you unequip them when you're not fighting!)
