It actually wasn't luck. It was a 1v1 against a really bad team, and we took them all down to 60 death penalty at around 2 minutes left. Incedentally, my whole team was at their starting base except me and 1 other guy (we were dancing on the altar), so I got 4 items and he got 1.
So for anyone whose team is slaughtering another team, make sure you're near the altar when you win.
