Just wondering... I doubt it, though. Lemme guess: I need to get the ritualist to some level where they reach the port, and then they can travel to post-searing Ascalon via Lion's Gate?

The simple answer is no. You can't create or bring a Ritualist or Assassin into Pre-seering Ascolon.

Reason is because those two classes are from Canthas, not from Tyria. As a result, you cannot create them from Prophecies. Since Factions only allows you to create any character in Canthas, you can't create them from that scenario. Canthas is an oriental style area, where their classes are trained only in Canthas. No one in Tyria has the knowledge to train an Assassin or Ritualist, so you can't start off in Ascolon with these two new classes. It is also the same reason why you can't get certain skills in Tyria that are found in Canthas and vice versa. No one in Tyria knows how to create a blood golem, just like no one in Canthas can create a meteor shower.

When you do get your character from Canthas to Tyria, you'll find the cut scene describing the fall of Ascolon, the war started by the Char and the uprising of the undead.

Hope this helps explain why you can't create a Ritualist or Assassin in Prophecies. At least its better than saying "NCSoft doesn't allow it"

Okay...

Let's assume I make it my goal to get a Ritualist into Tyria. At what level can a Factions character travel to Tyria?

Also, I assume upon arriving in Tyria that I only "know" Lion's Gate? Or will I have access to other parts of Tyria?

You can get to Tyria shortly after you reach the mainland. And Lion's Gate will be the only available place upon arrival.

Also note that you can't play any missions before Lions Arch on a canthan character..
would mess up the storyline pretty bad eh.

would mess up the storyline pretty bad eh. It will? The Prophecies story begins with Lion's Arch really... One moment you are fighting Char, the other you are fighting Mantle and Mursaat. Pretty messed up, if you ask me. I was hoping that at some point the story would come back in circle to explain to me about the Char and all but it never really did (granted that it ended up with an Undead Rurik and a vague explanation about how the Titans are the Gods of the Char but then not bothering to actually justify what you were doing 1/3 of the game). So... I don't know, the Prophecies story is messed up anyway...

At least with Factions they decided to keep it simple: this the bad guy, he killed the emperor, he gonna do it again, kill the bad guy. A thoroughly intriguing plot...

At about what level will a Ritualist reach Lion's Gate, assuming you rush through the Cantha campaign?

I'm trying to coordinate with someone who only has Prophecies

Yes, 15 is reasonable. However, say you just got your 2nd profession and then only did the Primary Missions... It could be lower. I'm at a 9 on my Assassin and I've done the first "Mission" in that town... by the way... town names are hard to spell now lol.

Erm, both my canthan characters are level 13 and have just reached Tyria. Thats the level i'd reach lions arch normally, so i'd say it's pretty cool. I normally use the hench as a guideline. The minimum level i'd say you would want to be is level 10.

I think the minimum can possibly be is between level 1 and 3.

Its just like have a low level character in Ember Light Camp or Hells Precipce.

All you do is create a character, get your 2nd profession, and get to the point where you can get to the next town to the east. Get someone from Tyria to come to you and give you a lift back to Tyria. Just stand at the beginning of the city, and let your partner get you to the next city. Your partner will compete the missions for you and you just go back to town and talk to the guy at the docks. Go to the next Island and your partner will travel you from the Market Place to the City with the Docks. Have your partner clear the path for you and you can get the reward for Mhenlo/Togo and get a ride back to Tyria.

I think you can actually get to Ascolon, but its a very long way to do so. Go back to Kryta then to becon's perch. Then go north all the way to Yaks. Then go from there to Nolian Academy. Then traverse yourself all the way back to Ascolon City.

Before Factions, runners made money by going from Ascolon City to Sactum Cay or at least to Yaks. The story line states about the Undead and the Char. Not the fate of Prince Rurik.

But as I said before, you cannot go back to Pre-seering. Once you leave Pre-seering as a Tyrian, you can't go back. So it must be for Canthas too. Sadly, anyone can go to the trainning grounds of Factions (just not the tutorial part).
