Green item bosses & Factions (Not a Where-do-they-drop thread)

Okay, so I was farming some bosses that may or may not have been in a full guild party, 5-man, or solo farm location. I may or may not have been on a warrior, monk, 55, ele, or any other build for farming. But I was in Factions. And I was farming greens.

First thing odd I notice in one run, is that the boss will switch weapons slots. o_O First he was wanding me, then when i approached he switched to a sword/shield and started melee-ing me. Second run...was disappointed to see he was NOT holding the item I was going for. Killed him anyways, and was surprised to see that he DID drop his green.

Bug, intentional? Enemies have more than one weaponslot? Amped difficulty and AI?

bosses are definitly more difficult now and the doppel and guild lords have this so i guess they spread it to the bosses too

You should check out the Am Fah assassins (or was that the jade brotherhood?) They have a staff they wand you with.. till you get too close and suddenly, they're attacking you with daggers!

Did you notice that the jade boss on the island will dance on your body if you die.

The Crimson Skull Hunters do that too, if they kill off your party.

Even Talon Silverwing weapon-swaps (and I really want to know what that sword he uses in battle is... so purdy!). I suspect they gave him a lovely Vamp sword to switch to in the heat of things... or, I hope that's what they did anyway.

There's a group of Crimson Skull on the island that are always dancing and playing instruments.

while we are on the topic of Shing Jea bosses.......

In Proph, one of my personal goals was to collect one of every green (EVERY single one). And I did so.

With Factions, I see there are a slew of new ones, so I thought, why not start with the Shing Jea ones. Crimson Skull bosses, easy.....they drop their greens (soloing with either wammo or mm).

Mantid bosses......NEVER drop. I've run the assn one outside the Gardens, the Mes one in the tiny island in the lake, and the necro one that spawns in that little temple thingy when you kill the two hatchlings. Probably 70 runs total, solo, with my lvl 20 farms. Not a single green drop.

Is there some trick to get them to drop their greens? Why only the mantid bosses? Should I be closer to their level?

Wait do all bosses drop greens now?

I've soloed Strongroot maybe 25 times now, no shield yet >.<

Also, I've noticed that Wing will only drop his axe when he's holding a mammoth axe? I've gotten 4-5 axes off of him only when he's holding a mammoth axe, not once when he's holding any other type of axe.

In Faction, I say yes, even in Sin Jea Island. But the Green Items aren't maxed there. Well, first time I got a non max dmg green item.

I'm pretty sure it's all bosses except for bosses that appear due to quest (bog beast of bokku...etc). Not sure though, but there are a LOT of greens...though some/most aren't so great.

The shing jea bosses tend to drop non-max dmg greens so they arent that great...

Lou is in a quest and you can get his green daggers

He isn't swapping weapons. You have the Rit henchmen with you and its casting a weapon spell on him.

Weapon of Warding to be more precise with a +3 regen.
