ok...shiro is dead...now what...

I'm probably going to be called a noob or someother elitest crap but I need to ask these questions...
I wouldn't call myself a new player, having completed gw-p with multiple chars and the story in factions with my main char. But I am seriously starting to feel left out regarding factions, where I thought it was a good game at 1st I am now starting to feel jaded by it (no pun intended). I'm in a very small guild, just a group of friends, and prior to factions we were talking about how fun it would be to control an outpost and play elite missions etc. But now after getting through the story the chances of doing the other things seem extremely remote.
Our guild is not in a alliance, the only time I looked at joining one I was told we didn't have enough members to get any serious number of faction. I've therefor never tried an elite mission or come close to holding a outpost....and it looks like I never will unless I quit my little guild and join some 'elite mega guild', which isn't going to happen and because of this soooo much of factions feels 'closed off' to me. It's like I will only get to see a part of the game I paid for....which kinda sucks.
So can someone tell me what I am meant to be doing now I have finished the storyline missions?
All it seems I have left to do is either replay the story with my other chars or go farming with my main char. I must be missing the point somewhere I am sure because this CAN'T be how Anet intended this to be...surely.
So if you can hold off the "your a noob" comments for a short while I'd really appreciated some input here as to what other missions/quests etc are open to a non elite guild who wants to try a little of what was promised. There must be more to this game than just being part of a uber-alliance, well I hope so because atm I starting to feel a little left out in all this.

So far, I've done what you mentioned - I started other characters in Factions. I've also continued to enjoy FOW (reachable from either Prophecies or Factions).
The truth is that no one can - or even should - try to convince you to enjoy the game when it's lost its luster. I still enjoy it but if I started getting bored I doubt if all the notes and suggestions (start other players, farm, try to get all elites, help other palyers, whatever) would convince me that I was having fun if I wasn't.
So it could be that the game has run its course for you. There's nothing wrong with you or the game if that has happened. After all, this wasn't intended to be a lifelong occupation.
Me? I'm still enjoying things a lot after a year, but when I stop enjoying it I'll just move on.

Go to Cavalon. If TC holds it, ask for someone to take you to the Deep (Luxon elite mission). Holding an outpost is nothing special though, the benefits are tiny (except the capitals and their associated elite missions of course).

To bad that's exactly what it is. You can only be called a noob when you mention don't call me a noob it's like reverse psychology. But seeing mods watch forums noob flaming is not accepted.
As to after beating Shiro, you are left to
a) Do it all again with another character
b) Start a new character
c) Farm
d) Elite missions
e) GVG
f) HOH
g) RA and TA
h) Cap skills in Tyria and Cantha
i) Enjoy the game with ya friends and guildies.

It's possible to do elite missions - I got 'ferried' to one by someone. There are often ferries, people in the alliance that holds cavalon/zu helter, that will take you to the elite mission for free. Even if you log out, you stay in the mission area (the bit where you make a group) and only need another ferry if you map out.
I, also, am in a guild of friends (the Racing Frogs Forum guild ^^), and it's still good fun.
Also grind for FoW armour, or 15k canthan/luxon/kurzick. I admit I feel a little overwhelmed by GWF as well - I think that after a month or two of getting to know the game more, we will feel more comfortable and know exactly what we can't have - and instead of thinking, "Aaaarrrrgggghhhh! I'll never get there!" we will be more like "I probs won't get there - but I know how little I'm missing out on, and I can try other stuff."
Basically what I'm saying is that I feel like you do, too; but I think it is probably just that feeling of being overwhelmed by about a million things to do, many of which you can't.

Not much has changed in Factions for PVP, only thing added was 12 vs 12 rest is PVE oriented? WHOLE new content, elite missions, I see more PVE than PVP.
quickmonty
Then, we disagree on that. Prophecies had much more PvE content. Elite missions? Two missions that you MAY get a chance to play. Maybe, between the two of us, we can agree that Factions doesn't offer a whole lot for anyone.

cosyfiep
yeah, the OP has what I hope not to catch.....I am taking the whole factions missions really slowly (well, I am having help since my computer is sooooooooooooooo laggy I cant play most of the slums anyways) so that I will have time to savour the short story line. And since I cant pvp worth a dime, (dont even go there), I wont be doing those kinds of missions either. I do hope that when I finally finish the story line that there will be some nice guild in charge of the elite cities so I can at least visit once to see whats there (otherwise the only thing I want is some new armor for 2 of my characters).
For now I have been working on my cartographers titles for my tyrian characters (until such time, if any, I get a new computer so I CAN go to canthan again).....
So you can always try for some titles like me!

Honestly why are people always doing this.
Honestly it's like buying WC3 beating the single player campaign and then being like uh I don't like multiplayer RTS games what do I do now?

You could help gather data/information and than get it added to Guru

Sample Attack
GW-F Offer more PvE than PvP.
I think they release the Gw-f real Early giving us something to do where lot more are on-coming added later in the future.
I dn't recommend people to grin it... only people grinning is the farmer.
And They love what they do.
My Suggestion: take your time , slowly do the mission/Quest/Storyline..save up gold toward 15k Armor, The best looking Weapons...Do some 12 vs 12.
GvG, HA here and there. Help out your friends, When you have friends in game you slowly enjoy talking to your friends rather than grab henchies and rushing through the game.

I am sort of in the same spot. Got my first character through the game. I intend on doing the following.
1) Cap all elites
2) Map all areas
3) Get "End Game" 15k armor
4) Go back and get masters reward on missions that I didn't get it on
5) Go to chapter one and map as much area as possible.
6) Do as many missions with bonuses there.
7) Change secondary start capping those elites.
8) Purchase any skill that has not been or can not be gotten through quests.
9) Start new characters and get them through game, and when they do repeat steps 1 thru 8 with them as needed.

As for the others who gave non retarded answers, thank you. I have actually done quite a bit, I have the 15k end game armour and have the set of 3 necro green wands. I have also got a lvl20 assassin and have got that through quite a bit. I guess thats the next thing then, get my other chars to the end. Ah well.

I honestly just think you're looking for a reason to post. Seriously? What kind of a question is "what do I do next" like all of a sudden you're going to learn of some super secret part of the game that no one knows about that you can do.

Well Another thing u can do is , GvG , HA
You can work on your Rank/emote.
I guess you are so far way ahead than I in PvE. Gratz .

seriously....
ok.... lets say you didnt read game description, u can still get all the titles for the fun of it
and buy the way, you will not enjoy PVP before you learn how to kick ass in there. once you learn how to do it, you'll have TONS of fun
when i started PVP i hated it cuz ikept getting killed, or being completly useless. once you learn it, become more or less decent player, then you realise how great it is comparing to so many other online games that do PVP... WOW....eek

ShadowStorm
Here's something you could do: pick a title and see if you can get it on one or more of your characters.
I've had lots of fun hunting down elites for the skill hunter title, mapping the not often seen parts of the map for the cartography titles, and attempting to get the absolute highest amount of experience without dying for the survivor titles. Check'em out.

Here's the super secret part.....you're not a noob so you know everything you can do and you are still bored that means your best bet is put the game away for a bit and if you miss it come back to it but if you don't miss it find something else to do. Remember....don't tell anyone else this unless they know the secret handshake!
