Mo/Rit? Good Dmg Dealer?
Eragon Dragonslayer
Ima gonna make a monk soon....but i want to use it for good dmg dealing and i was wondering if a ritualist would be worth it for dmg dealing ill also be healing sometimes...so is a ritualist a good 2nd prof for healing and dmg dealing?
Wrath Of Dragons
from what iv seen, yes. the only problem is, people expect monks to heal. or protect. not damage. takes a lot of fun out of being a monk

Unless you are a 55hp Monk; Smiting is pretty terrible, even in PvE. Monks simply aren't a good class for dealing damage.

Agreed.

The thing with smiting its that you can make a good combo.... but then you make it and you need to wait 30-60 sec until the skills recharges, and the dmg you do is very poor, compared to other professions.
If you wanna make a Mo/Rt to make dmg, its better if you choose Rt/Mo

im not using smiting im using communing but i dont want to make a rit just a monk so i can switch to healing also but wouldnt it work if i use communing magic?
Master Kimchee
Even if you use communing you still won't be as effective as if you were Rt primary. Choosing primary makes your spirits and stuff last longer with Spawning Power. You could try the Channeling skills.. mostly lightning damage. Also the weapon spells are really helpful. Basically if you're going to use spirits go primary Rt; otherwise I think you can use the Channeling magic pretty effectively even as a secondary Rt.
