Jadeite/Amber drops?

I was wondering if there was any other way of getting these materials, other than getting faction, then going to the scavenger. Do they drop in certain places? say.. Elite Missions?

I was told that Amber/Jade do not drop. But that items like amber wands, jade wands, and other weapons/offhands will sometimes salvage into there respective materials.

They do drop, I got a Jadeite shard from a Luxon enemy in a mission.

Yep jadite drops, I had one drop from a Jade Knight earlier this week.

Amber and jadeite do drop.

I can confirm Jadeite drops, I've had 2 drops of Jadeite so far. One in Ferndale from a Luxon scout, the second in Archipelagos while doing the Arena quest.

Not seen any amber drops but I assume those too drop on occasion.

My husband has gotten 2 jades in the slum last week...no amber drops (but he said he saw them drop during the fpe)....good thing you can BUY them from the rare materials guy (at a price of course )

Only if people are selling them to the merchant. They're not always there.

I have personally seen Amber drop on the Luxon missions. Seems to me that Luxon enemies drop Jade and Kurzik enemies drop Amber, but not very often. Like, about as often as Fire Imps drop Charcoal. Maybe worse than that.

i dropped a Jadeite in Pongmei and Amber in Ferndale

i aint sure about the salvage, though .. i salvaged a ton of amber/jade items .. only got wood/dust

They do salvage, I've done it myself. Expert salvaged a jadeite shard from a Jade longbow, so I guess there's always a chance to salvage, it's just rare.

In the old FF duel amber used to drop for my group every 4 runs or so.
