I've had amber drop from monsters deep in Kurzick territory. It seems only logical that jadite would drop as well. However, I didn't expect it to drop so early in the game.

Yes that's quite strange. One would hope that amber would drop early on as well since it would seem unbalanced if it didn't now that we've seen jadite dropping.

yes, my husband has gotten 2 jades in the slums....me nothing. So yes they do drop.

you can also salvage for them. I salvaged a chunk of amber from an amber bow outside hzh.

no, regular white bow, I don't salvage colored items, unless it is gold with a perfect mod, just white ones

i got a jadete shard from a jade brotherhood once, just before i got wings axe, then stupid me went and sold the axe to a merchant (was tired and double clicked the axe accidentally)

I took my char to Shing Jea to clear some more map, and got an Amber Chunk from a level 1 bug! I immediately wiped out the rest of them, but that was the only one...

I've been doing that, but so far I've only seen glittering dust. However, a lot of other worthless armor drops have been yielding steel, leather squares, silk and linen.

Agreed, I've been swiming in Steel as of late. Plus getting those Expetkits for free, with totems and what not mean I'm salvaging just about everything.

I, too, have had Jade drop from the Jade Brotherhood. During the same run one of them also dropped a Sapphire. I should've screenshotted it, but I was too new to factions to know how unusual that would be. Ah well, at least a guildie was there to marvel at my good drops while he collected white staves and daggers.
