I have just completed the Sunjiang District mission (the one where Togo says we need to form an alliance with one of the sides). Trouble is, Im not too sure where to get the befriending quest from. I think Jamei in Maatu Keeps starts this quest, and sends you to Cavalon/House zu Heltzer.

quick question I just got Befriending the Luxons, but I also started doing AB battles to help out my guild. So if I collect 10k faction and return to Elder Rhea, does the NPC take away the faction or not? And if I'm already sided with Luxons due to guild, can I still do all of the quests for Kuz also?

Befriending doesn't take away the 10k faction and you can do all the Luxon/Kurzick quests no matter what side your alliance is. However it's best to spend all your faction from one side before doing the quests for the other so you won't loose any when you turn in your faction.

What I recommend is doing the Befriending quests for all your characters at the same time, since the quest triggers at any time that you have 10k faction and does not take the faction points away. So if you get your 4 characters to Cavalon and then gather 10k Luxon faction with one of them, you've basically just saved yourself 3 whole repeats of the same quest

if you have 10k unspent factiont, every character will be able to complete the quest that both sides require 10k faction, after doing that quest you will be able to do another quest: "defenders of the forest" kurzick and "stolen eggs" luxon, wich will take you to the next mission place "unwaking waters" for both sides, if you spend your faction giving it to your alliance or getting jadeite (luxons) or amber (kurzicks) you will lose the faction, and you will have to reacquire 10 thousand faction to be able to do the quest befriending the (insert faction here) to get to their respective unwaking waters mission.
