Which 4 bows do you use?

Im just starting to use my Ranger again in PvE and soon enough PvP. Im just wondering what type of bows everyone uses and why.

Im loooking to sell my Ebon Longbow becuse im getting out of the long range, and getting a Recurve for the short air time.

Which bow is the best for Barrage users? Atm, im using Conjure and Sometimes Mark of Pain with barrage/Duel shot. Also always bring Fw/RTw, so air time doesnt matter as much. I was thinking htis would be 4 goob bows to have.

Any suggestions? its been while since i played my ranger. Lets see your 4 bows if you use 4 bows ><

First i use a flatbow for pulling mobs because of the high arch it can fire over obstacles

Second is Elyswyrth longbow if i go poison b/c of the 33% longer poison duration

Third is Elyswyrth recurve bow for barrage b/c of the vampric mod i can pretty much keep myself at full hp agains mobs at 3+ enemies

Fourth slot is my millius pillar for trapping b/c it gives +15 energy

Drago's Flatbow for pulling, Elswyth Recurve for after the mob engages, vampiric horn/sundering long for when I pvp with the char.

1) +18 energy Trapping staff
2) Poisonous 15^50 Storm bow of Fortitude
3) Drago's Flatbow
4) Green Zealous Ironwing Flatbow

I switch out my #1 slot between Greygore's zealous and vamp short bows, the stinger and a poisonous longbow. The short bows are mostly for farming, the long bow is for ranged poison.
#2 is obvious.
#3 and 4 are what i use most of the time. The zealous is my primary weapon, I switch to Drago's to regen if need be or if I'm not using barrage.

1. sundering shortbow of fortitude 14%^50 20/19 AP +29 health
2. dragos flatbow regular 10% AP one (ive yet to change it)
3. -2 stance longbow(really a shortbow) poisonous of defense
4. open slot for millius pillar, or 18 nrg staff / or whatever...

i use the flatbow for pulling but i hardly do any pulling anymore since the tanks just aggro in pve and pvp so i now use the shortbow for pvp and pve for the crazy firing rate, i have yet to try marauders shot and needling shot

1) Zealous Stormbow (coz it looks shiny) of Fortitude for the barrage team
2) Gargash Recurve - 1st green bow i got just never got a replacement
3) Zealous Shortbow of fortitude - Barrage/Tigers at short range
4) Poisonous Plagueborn Hornbow of Enchanting - came with enchanting not got a replacement, use it for farming ettins with

Zealous Half Moon of Defense - I love the Half Moon skin. It's a shortbow type, so it's used for quick fire energy regen/reduction attacks.
Elswyth's Recurve Bow - I think a Vampiric mod is a must have for the additional life steal (armor ignoring damage). Moderate rate of fire and longer range over the Half Moon.
Sundering Ivory Bow of Marksmanship - Inconsistent high damage bow for barraging or spiking. It's more of a 'fun' bow. Tend to use it more with Judge's Insight and Barrage/Penetrating Attack.
Drago's Flat Bow (10/10 Sundering version) - For long distance pulling/attacking. Usually able to stay out of enemy spell range when attacking with this one. The 10/10 is quite poor, but the size of the bow more than makes up for it. =D ... and Milius' Pillar for trapping.

Those are the bows I carry, different rate of fire and different ranges, with the aim in trying to have something for every occasion. The first two are used more for interrupting, otherwise they all seem to work well when I do use barrage (where the choice of bow tend to be how close to the enemy I want to be).

In general, Elswyth's and Drago's are used more often than the others.

i loooooooove vamp bows.

I just started a ranger last night. At the moment all I have is a max +5 energy longbow.

Anyone have any suggestions for a canthan ranger in way of bows? (any opinions on the two endgame Ironwing bows?)

Elyswths Recurve bow for barraging
Sundering Storm Bow of Fortitude for pulling... (Its max and 15% enchanted, got it free but i'm thinking of salvaging it for the Fortitude mod.)

sundering long bow(any type)
cripling recurve(any type)
vampirc hornbow(any type)
(for psn spreding the elsyth long bow is fine)

other than that u can get bunch of cheap greens
but those 3 are essential for pvp/gvg asn

oh yeah and i forgot about +5 energy bow and 15/30 staff when ur a traper

Crimson Carapace shield equipped on all slots (not active, but it's a storage slot for free) ready to swap a fortitude sword for R/W forge running.

Sundering Zodiac of Defense -- All purpose bow.
Slot 3 is switched a lot depending what i want to do.
Flint's Fleshcleaver -- Trapping.

Sundering is useless.

My 4 main bows:

1. Zealous Short Bow - Occasional energy regen, mostly for Barrage spam (I dislike Flatbows, they miss too much and I can never get an interrupt in time ).
2. Poisonous Composite Bow - All around bow, great for spreading poison and interrupting.
3. Crippling Long Bow - Used in GvG for crippling a runner from range.
4. Vampiric Horn Bow - RSpike...

All with 15>50 and +25-30 health.

Also have the standard trapping staves and -2 stance bow...sometimes I'll even whip out:
(5). Fiery Flatbow - Only used for imp farming and spiking down warriors.

drago flat bow (to weild, and regular fighting)
elswyth recurve (5:1 vamp)
elswyth long (poisoners)
zealots storm bow
firy long bow(only for a specific build with conjure flame)

Ironwing Flatbow /Vamp 5 , 15^50, +30 health/
