I've sold many Minor Assassin Runes for 2k over the last week, even 3k. Stop selling your Minor Assassin Runes back to the Rune Trader, you're doing a disservice to yourself as you are driving down the market prices.

if these runes are constantly being sold out, there's obviously a reason for that. And there are no substitutions for Minor Assassin Runes as they don't have health penalty. I know Minor Vigors are frequently sold out, but Major and Superior Vigors are better than Minor Vigors in every single possible way.

argh!

Your asking people to stop selling runes to the trader so you can make 2-3k? Sounds convincing...

So I should waste an hour of my time trying sell a rune for 2k instead of the two seconds that it takes at a rune trader for 500g. And all this simply to allow you to continue peddling your wares at an inflated price?

Have you ever walked barefoot through a field on a warm summer day, and then suddenly realized you'd stepped in manure?

Coming upon this thread felt exactly like that.

I had the same idea of selling Assassin and Ritualist runes, but then I realized it was a colossal waste of time for such a small amount of money. So I just started selling them to the trader or giving them to guildies.

Personally, I'd rather not waste my time for a petty 2-3k, and I'd rather see people who want the runes not pay people like you ridiculous prices for them. So... cry about.

QFT. I totally thought this thread was going to have a reasonable purpose besides "i want more money"

You sound just like the music industry.

Look, if your runes don't sell at 2-3K, perhaps it means it is not meant to sell at that price? It is not like these runes are so rare to start with, you are just artificially trying to foist them for a high price.

I can’t help but wonder why people are buying minor assassin runes from people in the first place unless they are selling them cheaper then the trader. Do they only have towns that have no rune trader? Or do they consider the Alt key on the key board to be their worst enemy?

The Alt key is your friend….

Why exactly should I not sell the Dozens upon Dozens of Assassin Runes that drop ALL OVER Cantha, back to the trader again??? OH that's right its screwing up your inflation market!!! This IS Precisely what you idiots did to Silver Dye, and Vigor Runes back in the day... Buying out the traders till your inventories were swollen, to force a out of stock and driving the price up. Basically what your saying is Only YOU deserve to Buy runes at 100 gold and sell back at 3000 to the suckers that didn't buy early right? BULL!!!

If it drops, sell it to NPCs. I encourage EVERYONE to do the same cause then, and ONLY then, is it a true representation of an items value at the vendor. and not dependant on these idiots that will do ANYTHING to inflate a price of a relatively common thing. This is EXACTLY why there are limits on what you can hold in storage... To PREVENT UNFAIR manipulation of the market vendors. Also known as insider trading... Which if I'm not mistaken is considered a felony in the outside world. Just be glad its not in the game world. But I'm sure if I dig into the language or the EULA good enough I can come up with something to address this. Something along the lines of manipulation of code to gain an exploitative advantage over others. Kinda falls under the same clause that make duping gold against the rules basically...

If he wants to try this with minor runes, let him. He's the one that will be screwed when the vendor starts selling them for 100g.

They are doing this, because they don't have much choice when the Rune Trader NPCs run out of stock. (Yes, it happens. Go check the rune trader in the town of your choice) When an A or an Rt wants a rune, their options are:
  • camp the trader and wait for somebody to sell the runes they want (and be quick about buying it, since it won't last long) -- constantly closing and re-opening the trade window.
  • wait for a few months for the rune market to stabilize.
Guys like the OP are the greedy, opportunistic [insert noun here]s that want to make as much as they can from an early, unstable market.

*awards =HT=Ingram 1 metan commendation*

I'd never realised there was really a downside to having more storage, but that definately explains why ANet are taking their time trying to implement "smarter" storage rather than just more storage.

OT-ish/

Has anyone noticed that ANet seem to have changed their NPC-Vendor system? They used to sell their stock within a pre-determined min/max based on the rarity of the drop. Not long ago the last Minor Vigor would still only be sold at 300g. Now it's like they've added something else that adjusts the min/max something can be sold for every day that they're being sold out non-stop. The max on minor runes is raising roughly 50g every other day.

I'll sell all minor runes that my guild does not need to the merchant. This thread has encouraged me to do so even more.
