Illusionary Weaponry
CrazySteve
                    Hello,
I have just started playing factions a few weeks ago, my first charachter was a mesmer, and so far ive been primarily focusing on just preventing enemy monks / casters from casting their spells.
However, I was reading somewhere about an elite skill called illusionary weaponry, and was wondering would i be able to capture this skill, even though all i own is factions, and if not if there is any way to attain it without buying the prophecies campaign.
(pretty much i don't know if there is a boss who exists in factions who has it, and if there is where to get it, thats why i figured i should throw it in this forum)
Anyways thanks in advance for your help.

It's a Prophecies-only skill, and there's no way to get it aside from buying Prophecies.

I'll save you a lot of time: IW sucks and you're better off without it.

Yeah, because Mending is only good when you Echo it.

Illusionary Weaponry does have its uses outside of PvP. Many of my solo builds revolve around IW for damage, it can do a TON of damage over time (42 damage per weapon swing at 16 Illusion). In a usual team-based setting though, you're better off with some other elite - because it's not likely you'll run into a team wanting to have a Mesmer melee'er.
One other Prophecies-only elite that is a must-have is Ineptitude:
Elite Hex Spell. For 4..9 seconds, the next time target foe attacks, that foe takes 30..135 damage and becomes Blinded for 10 seconds.
Energy Cost: 10
Cast Time: 1 second
Recast: 20 seconds
It works amazingly when wanting to shut down an annoying approaching Warrior, especially as it instantly removes a great amount of health and leaves the foe blinded. It works even better with Clumsiness and Arcane Echo; enabling you to deal more damage and double up on the same skill.
Honestly, the Mesmer elites in Tyria are far more useful than the ones in Cantha, so I'd suggest checking them out!
