Round 2 of the GWFC Season 2 playoffs are in the books, and so is my follow-up article! This time around, I took a more detailed look into each game, as the second round only featured four match-ups.

Head on over to http://www.ampedesports.com/news/2349 to check it out.

A snippet:
"Just when we thought it was safe to root for the underdogs, a rude awakening once again greeted the Guild Wars world today. Every top seed from round two’s matches has seen their way through to the Semi-Finals, though at least one of those matches can be considered an upset. Black Widow, an assemblage of former members from some of the most well-respect guilds in the game (Fianna and Negative Zero, to name a few), found themselves Cantha’s sweethearts when they woke up this morning, having dethroned The Last Pride in round one. They’d turned the tables around on Guild Wars superstars Last of Master and Bloodlight Eyes, using EviL’s own strategies against them en route to a stunning 2-0 victory. But that was yesterday."

Very nice writeup. I also have to say thanks for summarizing the Rus vs. iB games, as I couldn't find the patience to watch through all of that last night.

Hehe, I hear ya there. Each game going around 38 minutes made it difficult to follow completely, as there were so many ups and downs. Neither team really showed much map control or over-arching positioning strategies (see: War Machine), making it tough to see who had the upper hand until the very last moment.

I was saddened to see your report on WM vs. Char game 1, Josh. You state that they dragged their thief into our base, when in actual fact, it was camped outside our base, Jang got it to follow him, I drained his Aura mark, he ported back in the base, we killed him and First Queen, and their Thief was stuck.

Nice writeup, all the same.

At 7 minutes, Jang brings the Guild Thief with him into the base as he kills archers. He hangs out in the base with the Thief, harassing you until around 10 minutes when First Queen shows up to help out. Corwen and Cry then cycle back around to the base, you strip his Displacement and attempt to kill the thief, stopping just before success. The three of you then finish off Jang and First Queen, leaving a barely-alive Thief stuck in your base. That's the long version of what happened, which I thought I summarized pretty clearly in the article ;-) I just watched the first part of the match again to make sure my facts were straight.

Good write up mostly, although I do hope you would have mentioned how Char's trapper on first round compare to no trapper on 2nd round's difference. Also how that introducing WM's me/a with aura of displacement + blackout made another significance role.

Also... WM live up to their word. "Map domination"
