Most Unsatisfying Victory

Well, I was running my W/Mo through Hell's Precipice earlier today and this was my 3rd try doing it (all with PUG). The group I got into was really awesome. We were playing smart and had good teamwork. Then about 1/4 of the way through it we lost 2 people. I was a bit skeptical that we could do it with only 6 players. I was now down to me, another wammo, 2 monks, a ranger and elementalist. We still kicked butt because we took our time and played smart. We just finished defeating the Portal Wraiths when I received a phone call that my wife's grandmother had died. Needless to say I had to drop everything and we took off for the hospital. Before I left the game I just typed in that I had a death in the family and had to take off. Obviously I felt bad from the death, but in a way I felt bad for ditching my team too...especially since we were doing so well. When I got back home a little while ago I noticed that they had gone on to defeat Rurik and the Lich.

Although, I guess I technically beat the mission I feel like it is an empty victory since I wasn't there to help. Those good PUG are few and far between. Sometime I will go back and redo mission just so I can feel a little better about it. I hope they didn't think I was a leech or something. Oh well, what can you do?

Shame to hear about your family member's passing.
/respect
/skulk?!

I'm guessing that you could do the mission again just to get a victory ^_^

I wonder if anyone actually believed your 'excuse' in game to leave.

Life > Silly game mission. There is absolutely no reason to feel guilty or anything else even if you do.

I'm amazed you even thought about the team at a time like that.

Aye real life goes first. Sorry about your loss.

My most empty victory was defeating Shiro (second time) yesterday.

People who haven't defeated him and do not want to know anything about the fight might want to skip the next line.

I was banished and by the time I ran past all the spirits to the portal I targetted Shiro and got one shot in before he died.

;_; *meeps for the loss* Dude that so sucks....

We were mid game, when my daughter who was supposed to be in bed snuck into mommy's room, found an xacto knife and nearly cut her finger off.... I think thats been the worst to happen so far ingame on our side.... But she was ok, it was "superficial" according to the doctor.

Life happens and it is more important than the game, I am sure those guys knew that if you stuck with them to the portal wraths that you weren't there for a free ride and it was serious.... You could have always back tracked your text logs and found one of their names and messaged them - see if maybe they knew anyone else in the group - and whisper each one a thank you!

I have gotten into a habbit of putting PUGs on my buddy list just in case I lag out or something happens - this way I can message them to say that I am sorry -_-

Well, its amazing what goes through your head when your hit with bad news like that. We knew she was going downhill, but its still a shock to hear it anyway. I find that sometimes when there is a death with someone close my brain kind of scrambles and thinks of other things. I guess it might be some sort of psychological defense mechanism to avoid from getting caught up in the emotion of death.

I spent much of the day with the wife going over funeral arrangements with the family and I think I want to play the game some now just to clear my head.
