Ive been playing around with a warrior which I know isnt a support class but I have decided that I want to be out of the spotlight and just be a support class that is desired in groups... this will be for PvE and Farming in general...

Class must be:
-Fun
-Easy to use
-Able to farm after beating factions
-Desired in Pve/Farming Groups
-Able to Solo Farm
-Good dmg from the start (newb island)
-Lastly want something I dont have to get armor right off for because I generaly wait till the last armor/weapon crafter on the newb island to craft my stuff.

Monk.

If you're a good monk you don't even need armor ^-^

Monks can farm.

Monk is fun, if you're good at it.

Easy to use, again, if you're good.

Good damage, smiting hurts.

Desired in PvE? Of course. They keep you alive!

Monk seems to fit your description just about perfectly; they are always sought after in any group, and are very efficient at "solo farming." About your expectations of not needing armor right off the bat, no class really differs in that sense. If starting in Cantha, you'll end up with max armor pretty quickly (Kaineng Center). If you plan on farming, Prophecies has some very key skills that are unattainable in Factions. That is the case with pretty much any class; the core skills are simply core to the game. So if you haven't, I recommend buying Prophecies.

Overall, the Monk class is pretty easy to play since you are expected to only focus on one thing - keeping your team alive. It is also fun and rewarding, especially if you know how to play the class. Ideally, you won't be doing much damage at all. But the Monk profession does have the Smiting Prayers line, if you choose to bring a little offense. When starting off, focus your attributes into Healing Prayers and Divine Favor. A Monk that heals is essential to any balanced team.

I hope this helps a little, but it is your choice to make.

A lot of teams don't want ele anymore, necro and monk, but mostly monk.

well I just started a monk and I belive that I will be a Mo/W since most of the builds require warrior or mesmer as your secondary. I plan on farming in factions after i beat it i have the first chapter but i was wondering should i start in prophecies and work back into factions? or should i go straight factions i bought both games at the same time so i could start over in chapter 1 and get the chpt 1 only skills and gain faction skills later on.. so any advice would rock my socks!!!

You are rewriting my question from yesterday. I chose to start in cantha. I've beat Prophesies enough times I don't really care to do it again. You build up faster in cantha, and if you need any skills from ch 1, you can go back to L.A. and move up from there to get your skills, and elites.

For a begginer : Necro/Monk

If you know about casters and feel good about your abilities : Earth Warder/*

A good earth ele can tank, solo, and support all other classes in the party.

if your new DONT go n/mo, i have one and have from day one wished i had gone n/me, cos they have great combo skills.

monk is a REALLY fun proffesion with the only drawback is being attacked constantly in pvp, but if your good, you can actually kill the stupid warriors attacking you .

monk is a REALLY good class, and they look great (mine does anyway )

also means you'll never have to wait for a party, and you'll never have to rely on anyone else.

the only REAL skill needed for mo/w is bontti's, which really isnt a good basis for being a /w.

i would go mo/me as they have several skills to replenish your energy (even more than necro)

then when you hit the proffesion changers change to /w and buy that skill.

So I can stick in cantha and ounce I get to the proph changers I can become a Mo/W also being a Monk and wanting to farm do I have to be a 55Hp Invinci or could I go another route and is there any other build that performs well with faction skills? and that is always needed in a group keep in mind "support build combo only" I was thinking Rit/N for spawn/death magics and do the whole MM thing but I dont know how well a Rit/* would do farming all ive seen is the vermin farmer Rit build and thats it....

I don't think you "have" to go 55 to farm with a Monk, but it also depends on the area you go to. It's much better to pick your skills for the area rather than taking some paint-by-numbers build and try to use it everywhere. Especially true for the 55.
