Anyone having the problem where the game will just suddenly forces a reboot of the computer? No error is given, just a complete reboot of my system. Using a radeon 9700 pro with omega 5.2 (tested with catalyst 5.3 as well).

try this to get a blue screen error message

In xp try "this computer"->properties->advanced->lower box (one that mentions startup)->settings->system errors->remove tick at option "reboot computer automatically".

Did that. Will still restart without giving the 'blue screen of death'. Occassionally (and I and I mean VERY rare) it will give me just a solid dark blue screen (no text).

This problem seems to be widespread.
I've seen it on at least 4 different boards already, with each topic reaching over 20 posts.

It's very annoying. Play for 10 minutes, then bam, and it's the only game that does this.

Everyone needs to spam Arenanet with mail about this, since this is something that's preventing a lot of us from playing the game at all.

I think Anet can do very little about this problem, since this is related mostly to the computer and not to the game.

...except all the people complaining don't have anything in common. The sound cards vary, video card, chipset, etc. Definitely a problem with the game.

90% of the time it's not quite the game's fault. Keep in mind that all those people's computers don't have anything in common, yet the game is expected to work perfectly on every single person's configuration, on top of a half-rate OS that runs on cheap hardware. Out of date drivers tend to be the cause of a lot of problems, so does heat, memory, dirty and corrupted installs of Windows, etc. Not a single game out there runs perfectly on 100% of all hardware and software configurations.

First, this is most likely a software-side issue and the development team will work on fixing these problems. It's not like they can wave a magic wand and make it work.

Second, what do you mean by half-rate? You mean the fact that Windows is a mainstream OS that needs to be programmed to cater to an unholy number of hardware and software configurations in order to allow maximum compatability with even the most remote of third party software? Or that it's just a crappy OS because of the reason previously stated? Or you mean that because of the reason previously stated, it is "half-rate" as in it doesn't run everything 100% because of software/hardware restrictions brought on by a multitude of various configurations, all depending on the user. It could be a misunderstanding on my part and I apologize if it is, but I just hope you aren't bashing Windows there.
