Yes, I am ******* Complaining
Ghozer
I have been at this "Unwaking Waters" mission for too long now, Im on the luxon side, and when ever I try the mission, theres a few scenarios..
1) I get in a team, theyer all noobs, run off, take 4 w/mo's (and wont listen when I tell them they need ranged attacks), then kick me saying IM the noob.
2) I end up taking henchies, I get a henchie team join me from Kurzicks, = me and 15 henchies
3) I end up taking henchies, get a HUMAN team joining me from kurzicks
when I have taken henchies, and its been ONLY me, and henchies, I have been further through the mission, than if im in a human party, or with henchies and a human Kurzick team -- the Last run I did (right before I posted this) It was me, 7 henchies, and a full team of 8 kurzicks, they all died, I think I lost 3 henchies at one point, but quickly res'd them.. -- the other team also used the Resurrection Orb, (when there was only 1 dead)
I have seen this sort of things way too many times, and not just in this mission either.
henchies, arent quite smart enough to beable to finish the mission on your own, with 2 henchie teams (since you cant res the second team, and they dont follow YOUR targets)
people are too dumb (majority of.. that is) to do the mission, and wont listen when someone tries to offer them advice...
WILL I EVER GET THIS F****** MISSION DONE!!!
I said to myself, im never going to go Heros Ascent again, till I complete Factions (this was on day of release) -- and I have stuck to that, but my friends are all catching me up in rank (all of which gave up on factions ages ago)

You're in a guild.. get them to help.
It's a pretty easy mission, actually.. have your team bring Mantra of Lightning.

why move?? this belongs in General, Its not sharing any knowledge (tips/tricks) -- Its not asking for help, Its not asking Questions, its simply complaining at the ammount of noobs who cant do a mission..
and yes, im in a guild, who most (as I said) gave up on factions, and some arent even this far yet... Others refuse to play factions cause they wanna HoH etc...

All I have to say, is that I'm an assassin. A little dweeb that every monk picks on. I took henchies, ended up with Kurzick henchies. Attempted mission twice and beat it. Suck it up, equipt yourselve nicely and get it done. An by the way I did it with half my skill bar being close range skills.
Did I mention I was an Assassin?

im an Assassin too!
the point im making is that people cant get as far in the mission as henchies can... theres gotta be something wrong there... when I get a human team, and im with henchies, as I said above, I end up still alive when all them are dead.. the ONLY reason I havent been able to complete it with only henchies is cause the other henchie team doesnt follow me good enough, so they end up dieing, and I cant res the other team..

I moved it here because you appeared to want help with a specific Canthan mission. Had I realized that your intention was merely to complain about "noobs who cant do a mission", I would have just deleted it. In either case, Riverside is not the place for it.

That made me lol
Seriously if you can't get your guild to help you then I'd say move on to another guild. But whatever floats your boat

Yeah, You really need guild help on this one. From what you have said about your guild they dont seem to be big into pve to begin with.
I feel your pain about the hench situation also. It seems pretty vacant in the last few mission towns, let alone getting a group that have a clue. All the officers in our guild have beat the game, but the majority of memebers haven't gotten much farther then zos shivros or further back<shrugg>

Did it first time with henchies, wasnt hard, no PvE missions are, got a nice gold staff on the way

Take the Domination and Interrupt henchmen. Honestly, if you can interrupt that blasted dragon's lightning and breath/scales skills you're half way to beating the mission.

On one of my initial attempts at this particular mission, I hooked up with koneko, each of us on different sides, each of us taking 7 henchmen, and we synced our entrance. On our first try that way, we did quite well, but due to poor pulling and calling, mostly on my part, we did end up failing. But, that alone gave me the knowladge I needed to later complete the mission. I then knew what worked and what didn't, which made me stronger in the long run.
Oh, and I did this with my sword Ranger build. I'm CERTAIN that I would have been able to beat it with better pulling, and 14 henchies.
And, you're in a Guild, where I ended up just henching it. Either the times you're trying it are poor, or your guild stinks.

whisper me ingame when you try it the next time - i will do my best to gather some patient adventurers (tm) on the kurzick side for a sync-entry! o_O
i haven't gotten around to build up 10k luxon fp - so that is the only thing i can offer. x_X
as for ressing: whenever i am in there i end up dropping the res-orb on the luxon team that got wiped (true)

The mission can definately be done with 15 hench. The rez orbs do rez hench from the other side.

ok, my guild are a PvP guild, And its MY guild, so I cant simply "move on"
I have now done the mission, With henchies (eventually) -- yes, I knew the res orbs would res the other team, but what when that/they are used?
i dont mind now as I have done it, lets hope this next one isnt as bad
tbh, I was a little mad because of the ppl I got with not having a clue, and most of the time you cant even find a group....

Dunno why you felt the need to make a thread that basically says "I can't do this mission because people are noobs and I dunno how to control henches." Anyway, there's some good info on this mission to be found here: http://www.guildwarsguru.com/forum/s....php?t=3025099

One thing i found with this mission was to go International, generally the people ive teamed up with there have been (usually) better players despite teh language barrier.
Tried that mission 5 times with the Sin in Home, 1st time in Int got two teams of 8 and walked it

If your the guild leader.. shouldn't it be easier to get them to help you..

You're an Assassin! That alone can be the reason why people are calling you n00bs! Hey, you know how much people in this world judge a book by its cover. Don't feel too bad about it.
But I have too say this one time...
I was the party leader as a SS necro. The mission started...the whole team just walked out of the gate. This Assassin...(who I invited to team because I played an Assassin before and know how hard it is to find a team as an Assassin)...Death charge into the enemy group and got killed...after that losing attempt, booting that Asn out of the party was the first thing I did.

Mystic Memory
really? I did this mission first try. Afterwards, i helped my friend, and we did it with 4 humans total from both sides.
But raisu palace, now that seems hard. Tried it once, seems like the hardest mission in the game.

It's much easier with a good pug though.

the guild wars players soon learned assassins suck ... well they can't take dmg at all... henches won't get you far in this mission. You can interupt kunnavang but I forgot how. Take a rit with ritual lord spamming shelter and you'll be fine.

I got lucky with both missions, I got them done the first tries with the ppl group there... I think good players are even harder to find as time passes, I mean... my first character had much better group experience than my second one... may be it's just me...

im an Assassin...and im dang good at it too...the problem is that most ppl think assassins are tanks...which they are NOT!
My strategy is the enter there agro and dash behind my groups line as the enemies and my party cash together...after the enimies have picked there target (hopefully not me) i move on to provide the most efficient kill/s posible..... ex....monk or boss...and i use recall to get me out of ther in a pinch

Henchmen aren't dumb. The people who use them and can't beat missions are. I've henched every mission in both games with almost every class and have been able to get both mission and bonus, and masters all of them with my necromancer (only exception being Raisu Palace).
Lady Lozza
I did the mission with a full team of hench on both my ele and my ranger and it turned out to be the quickest I've ever done the mission. Key is interrupts, and calling multiple times to get the henchie to follow you. Oh and always, always pick up the res orb.
english storm
oh yes raisu palace i tried countless times with pugs and failed all the time. In the end i took henchies to acompany my sin and did it easily

Is the luxon side greatly more difficult than kurzick? I did it in about 10 minutes with a blood necro friend and henchies and we didn't even know what we were doing..

isnt it actually the same? 0_o always thought the teams start next to eachother, since i recall there being quite many around me from the beginning :O only done it once tho and didnt pay too much attention ;o

I got masters on this mission with 15 henchies + me. You clearly arent equipping properly for the mission. Use your secondary class more to your advantage or go with sin ranged skills. Honestly its not that hard, just set up for all range degen, slow, and interrupt skills.
p.s. if any of the hench on *either* team are dead, make sure they get res'd by team mates or with the res orb before moving on.

In unwaking Waters, you always start with the other group at the same place. Someone here said he/she didnt know how to interrupt Kuunavang. Kuunavang needs 2-3 interrupt skills to stop her make daze (Broad Head Arrow, Concussion Shot, Beguiling Haze, etc) to interrupt her corrupted scale/ spore spells. Wild Blow or Wild strike to remove Corrupted Breath (Stance) and for Dark Chain Lightning (which its a skill, not a spell), have a Ritualist with shelter or if you're lucky, have 2 interrupt working at the same time.
I dont want to do my show off but I activate the cutscene without going throught the 1st Gate... she was stuck... and got Master as always

p.s. if any of the hench on *either* team are dead, make sure they get res'd by team mates or with the res orb before moving on. QFT. After losing the fifth time with my Whammo here, I decided to try after hearing this "silly" rumor more than once.
<--Masters with henchies. Biggest tip I can give you is NEVER FIGHT AFFLICTED AND KUUAVANG AT THE SAME TIME. Easy to do with henchmen that follow so loyally, you can simply kite away from Kuuavang when Afflicted draw near. She will eventually stop while the Flood will continue to chase you down, all the way to the start if you run that far. Killing the spores is easy too; lvl 10 stationary targets die quickly to the mage henchies AoE spells and (since all 15 members will follow your target calls) you can clean house and get back to the main course. Outside, I just used a Flatbow to train henchies to her. Inside, I wailed and she fell with a quickness.
Interupts are nice, but they weren't even needed in my case. Kuuavang is much more tame than when I helped a friend through here with my monk; just one more person in the game made her grouchy exterior show.

HALO REFERENCE :P Although the Aflicted do resemble the Flood I admit.
This mission can be done with henchies seriously. Follow advice given in this thread, and also not to take the Interupt henchman on the luxon side. Brilliant he is.

Interupt Kuunavang...and the mission is the easiest mission in the campaign (minus Cho's Estate).
