Balance - there's already written what shield to use. Any req. +30hp always -5 (20%) chance.

So basically the 16 AL doesn't really matter?
Also Morphium, I know, but the OP's post made me question a lot.

Any profession can equip shields, but most shields have requirements for a minumum rank in the warrior's Tactics or Strength attributes. Without meeting that requirement:

If the shield is a collector, crafter, or quest reward, or is a unique shield, then the AL used is 3, the same as a Starter Shield.

If the shield is a dropped item, then the AL used is half of the normal AL value. From my understanding my collector shields only give me 3 AL, whereas if I found some perfect duplicate golds than I would at least have 8 AL.

Ok, I don't get it at all. The only thing that couldn't kill me were degen and hexes...a Warrior with an axe and disrupting chop would make mincemeat out of me without breaking a sweat.

Even in Random Arena you need a stance to cover Troll Ungent or it will be interrupted (as happened to me about 50% of the time) and even getting up to +10 health regen only counters 20 DPS.

How is this build any good? Am I doing something wrong or did you guys who say it rocks just have the luck of going up against every single Downs Syndrome build in Random Arena???

I look at what this build is capable of while I use it and realize just how many builds I run in Random that could absolutely demolish it.....and that must be what others are thinking too as they mop me off the ground

Yeah, a halfway decent monk running Mend Ailment and/or CoP (which is what all the boon prot monks run) should shut this down. Really, if you're going to be someone who degens, you need to have it stacked to about at least -15 and have it covered up.

I tried this build just for the heck of it, but it really just doesn't seem to be that strong, mainly due to lack of offense. It's not bad, just far from uber.

well when you have +10 health regen and full energy sitting through life transfer, phantasm, IoR and a host of other hexes it's kind of cool. =)

MR is great when it works like it's supposed to, but it seems like that happens rarely.

I fail to see how this build would do anything to an opposing team with a half decent monk. It's also going to struggle one hell of a lot vs kiting... no speed buffs on a melee guy, not smart... no increased attack speed either.

Sorry, I just don't see how this build is any good... It's good at surviving I guess... but killing a team with a even half decent monk, no chance

Air spikers were destroying me with high damage skills. Blood spikes were sucking the life right out of me. Damage Interrupt Rangers were laughing at me for ignoring the bow inherent to my class. E-denial Mesmers took me to 0 energy and did their nails before interrupting my Troll Ungent. Monks laughed at my damage capability even after I interrupted Guardian and possibly an RoF when I was lucky. Ritualists danced around their spirits which blinded me, knocked me down, and destroyed me. Assassins using the FotM Might not have been able to finish me off but they could also just teleport away and kite. I could go on.....

+10 Health regen over 10 seconds is worse than a single Heal Other spell cast by a Healer Monk. It's not enough to hold off any class that kill with damage instead of conditions and hexes......and RA is overflowing with those also...

I had little to no success with this buid. Never made it past 5-6 wins. Died a lot. Thanks for the effort to the OP but this build is not for me

Sorry not too big on PVP, but, what are the conditions to be met to acquire the Gladiator title?

1 point for each 10win streak you have in RA...

You can do it through like 15 or 20 wins in TA aswell (1 point per) I think.. not sure about the stats though

I can see why Mel' is so popular amongst rangers. It is the one and only direct defense they get against hexes.

For phisical or elem damage there is throw dirt, whirling, storm chaser, traps, good armor (both phisicial and elem), and more traps and more stances and oath shoot to get them ad eternaum. There is even the antidote signet for poison, disease, and blindness.

However, in pure ranger, I largly prefer troll perfume to counter the degen, and run. Troll's is 8 pips at least, this means 4 conditions. Finally, the most double edged part of it is that it is a stance -you can't use whirling together- so throw dirt becomes your best friend. The good news is that strip enchants fizz on it

This is indeed the most shitty build ever, i cant really understand what all of you are so in love with? YEY, MR makes me get lots of energy, only thing is i hardly have any skills costing any good amount of energy. 8 in healing prayers for mending and a litle more in expertice would do _just_ the same thing, seing that apply poison really is useless for anything than combining it with a bow and interrupts, aka. poison spreading.

I've tried a build simlar to this in RA. Here is it:
Swordsmanship:12
Tactics:0~8 (can eliminate that if not using Healing Signet)
Expertise:12~16 (8+4~12+4)
Wilderness: As high as you can get it

Armor: whatever you want...
Sword: Barbed +15^50 Fortitude

Skills:
Seeking Blade
Sever Artery
Gash
Escape {E}
Lightning Reflexs
Whirling Defense/Healing Signet
Troll Ungent
Res Signet

Worked semi-well. It was ok when facing 3 W/X. I remember I was tanking 2 tanks, and assassin, and a ranger the other day. After about 1/2 a minute of hacking/shooting at an almost unhittable target they all broke off though...
