UI Improvements?

Probably been noticed by many of you, maybe not. Some might not care but, does it seem like in some way the GW User Interface (Buttons etc) is getting worse than better? I remember back when GW was first released, the UI was really really simple, noobish almost. Then it got way cooler, buttons got glossy, more defined, had a good look to them. Like time had actually been spent on them.

But now they seem to be going backwards, like all Anet have back tracked to the more blocky buttons (Im talking about the exit, minimize buttons etc) And the sliders in the options window?

Whats up with this change back then?

yea i noticed the buttons in the top right corner looked a bit odd today but thought i must be imagining it. cos why would they change them to something that looks worse?

I know! Thats exactly what i thought. The i quickly scanned over the customize UI stuff to see if i could change it, but nothing. Kinda weird to ,e.. The Menu icons are still like before.. so why change the others?

yea,
somehow the skin of the buttons has been removed.

Maybe the skin files have been removed or something.

This is a little comparison. Looks very much like the old old icons. And imo, the new ones which have just been removed, were far better?

I thought this topic was about ways to improve stuff.

I don't care about the skin as long as it uses the least amount of memory/processing power/etc.

What I'd like to see is the ability to move those damn mission timers out of the way.

You know, the timer in the top middle of the screen? It can't be moved X.x

Yeah i know what ya mean. I was merely asking if Anet thought had made improvements, if so, they may be involved with memory consumption, or merely changing the look of things.
