This isn't another thread whining about how drops have decreased lately....I just wanted to vent my frustration. I know drops are completely random, but I have been trying to complete the Thunderhead Keep mission about 12 times in a row now with no success and along the way it seems like everyone and their grandma is getting gold and purple drops but me. SUCKS!!!!! I'm really on a crappy gold drop dry run lately. I hope when I finally do get one it is a good one.

Well, I did the "Closer To The Stars" mission three times recently and everyone in the team got golds. Heck, on my second run 2 gold celestial swords dropped. Me? I got crappy whites all the way to the bank. Yep, I can agree with you that drops are often frustrating but that's the way it is. Unfortunately.

I kept reading about IDS` dropping like flies for everyone one so off I went to Mineral Springs. On about my 20th run a sword finally drops......a Non-Max Fiery dragon sword. I had to buy a new mouse.

lol fiery dragon instead... i feel you man, i remember when i went for my IDS, took at least 30+ tries after about 20 i was ready to call it quits... after that i was just wondering how fast i could run to the cave till i finally got mine.

For the longest time I was just getting white drops non-stop. Then I went to help a friend of mine uncover some of the map and out of nowhere I start getting gold drops out of just about everything. :>

Thats not the issue though, I haven't even been farming and i'm getting this issue. Just going through the story line my drops have been blue at best 99.9% of the time, i'm not complaining, but still it would be nice to get a gold every now and then, lol.

definetly feel your pain on the drops...my bro seems to be getting awesome gold fairly frequently...my last gold (and only one for a while) was an Ebon Mammoth Axe of something about a week ago...in Shing Jea...with a 15%^50 dmg mod, which was the only good mod on it...dmg was 6-17...only time i've had a dmg mod like that from a non collector item...i stopped playing on the island for 2 days i was so mad at those yetis lol...and i always seem to get purples out of every chest i open too...

(@ floppinghog) I feel for you my swordily challenged friend: I got one first try when I had 8 henchies and wasn't even trying to farm it in the first place. I was infact trying to cap SoJ for my warrior and decided "might as well try my luck"... first kill and it dropped

Glad I'm not the only one with pitiful drops.
I was grouped with guildies the other day; I counted at least 12 gold drops, 20 something purples, countless blues... I got 24 warden horns. Nothing else. I'm not kidding. Warden Horns. lol
I went with henchies for some caps and a few attempts (while wasting time) for a green item for kicks. It was junk, but just wanted to see if it dropped for me. After try four, I got determined to get it. Went a total of 10 times. Stupid thing never dropped. On the 11th trip a guildie joined me... it dropped for her right away.
- she was nice and gave it to me, but still. lol
It's so bad, I'm still using a collector bow from the desert that I modded as I can't find anything better. And since I get junk drops I haven't the money to buy something better. Good fun though and I think it's kinda funny.
Edit: Group last night finds a gold chest. We all open it. They get a perfect staff with +30 health; dagger with 20/20 sundering; perfect platinum bow with 20/20 sundering; a perfect furious axe... I got a req 12 flame wand with +4 energy. /flex

I had a gold Mammoth Axe drop for me today..low and behold it blew chunks..5-26. Non max golds are a waste of time. So I thought hey maybe mods are good. +29 Hp and 33% increase duration of weakness. So I tried to expert salvage for the HP grip..I recieved 8 iron ingots for my trouble. All my drops suck, even my gold.

I finally got a green....Baozos wand....domination magic---damage 8-13. yeah so what am I supposed to do with that???????????? (its my first green in quite some time......so I kept it for a week, just enamered that I ACTUALLY got a green; then after trying to pawn it off on some unsuspecting sole---the merchant gave me 35gold for it.....more than it was worth even though it had a green name).

I was complaining about drops a while ago, just after Anet announced that they improved the quality of purple/gold items.
I got alot of no +dmg mod weapons. Those weapons only had some +x armor or +non_max_hp mod. All of those eventually salvaged to wood.
Lately i only manage to salvage wood/iron from hoh chest drops.
Gimme a break.... The chest in the hall is opened only 6 times every hour. That's 144 times a day. On average 4 people get drops. Compared to other places, it's a real low average. So why do those drops suck?

don't know why but people who activate spells too late or don't attack at all get more drops than others who did the most damage

Well, I just beat THk on 15th try and yet again there were about 4-5 gold drops and about 8-9 purple drops...and guess what!!! I actually got a couple purple. They were a major rune of healing and a major rune of curses. Whoopie!!! Those went straight to the merchant.
Is there some sort of Gold Item Drop god out there that I don't know about? If so then I'm going to sacrifice my neighbor's annoying ass dog and see if things will improve.

What amuses me is that my hubby got a PERFECT Zodiac bow, put max mods on it and everything. Set it up for auction and is getting CRAP -_- Other people are getting 400+K for theirs but his hasn't reached the 100k mark. So sometimes even if you get that GODLY drop, you can't get crap lol.
I don't have the best of luck with my main account when it comes to drops but my second account doesn't do to bad at all. Someone mentioned that it has to do with when your account was made or time or the allignment of the moon and stars... I dunno, I do know that one of my accounts is luckier than the other.
