I'm so tired of people abusing the local chat window with selling stuff. I know that there isn't a way to permanently fix the problem but maybe come up with a deterrent by blocking key trade words such as (wts, wtb, selling, for sale, buy, etc.) and have a message come up telling user to use the Trade window. I think most people just don't know about the trade window and this might be a way to "train them" so to speak. Like I said, there will still be users that figure a way around the system but it will at least keep the newbies and the ignorant at bay.
I appologize in advance if this has already been brought up. Search was disabled due to traffic and I couldn't find anything already posted in this.
Anybody else think this might work or have a better idea or do I just need to pull the stick out of my arse?

Not only has it been brought up, but it has been implimented. As of the latest patch from a day or two ago you cannot type WTS in All chat.

Hmm, doesn't seem to have alleviated the problem at all. I was on this morning and they local window was still flooded with people who had figured a way around the problem by typing stuff like wtsbow. Argh. That's why I'm thinking they need a whole slew of words.

Yeah true. People will always find away around the filter. At least it shows that ANet is trying.
Of course the real answer is an alternative to trade spamming, such as an auction house. But we already have that suggested a million times and ANet's reply is "we're working on a better way to trade, hold your freaken horses."

Anet did a crap job with that last update. They didn't even block w t s. All they did was block wts wtb, no variations what so ever. I'm happy they did something, but they obviously didn't try very hard.
