Hey, this is a guide that will cover how to kill Bramble Everthorn for his Chakrams that many people seem to desire (or for me, I'm in it just for finding the item to sell, heh). And also this is my first guide so bear with me if I mess something up.
If you don't know the location of Everthorn, look at this page for more info: http://gw.gamewikis.org/wiki/Bramble_Everthorn. But you'll see in the video that I'll upload later that I take a slightly different (easier IMO) path.
Skills:
Healing Breeze
Protective Spirit
Shield of Judgment
Stonesoul Strike (same thing as Holy Strike, my monk was too lazy to leave Cantha to buy Holy Strike)
Blessed Signet
Mending
Blessed Aura
Balthazar's Spirit
Attributes:
6+3 Healing
12+3+1 Smiting
6+3 Protection
10+3 Divine Favor
Equipment:
-50hp cesta
Rajazan's Fervor (+5 energy, +20% enchant)
Collector Smiting Rod (20% chance to recharge smiting skills, max damage, customized; if I remember correctly it's the collector north of rankor near a lot of azure shadows, but faction probably has one that's similar)
Procedure:
I'm going to assume that you know the basic workings of a 55 monk so I'm not going to say much about that. Basically you'll really have to watch the patrol patterns. You should avoid Gakis (especially Skill Hungry Gakis) if possible. In your path you will encounter a mob of Warden with a mob of Kirin/Dragon Moss. Wait until the Kirin mob move, then run pass the Warden mob. A few things to note here:
1. You can usually run pass them with Protective Spirit + Healing Breeze. After you're pass them, keep Protective Spirit up and forget about Healing Breeze unless you're bleeding.
2. Warden of the Tree will use "None Shall Pass!" when they first run up to you. So if Bramble and Lacerate spirits are up, stop when they're close and resume after they use the skill. Be careful not to get body blocked.
3. Warden of the Spirit has shatter enchant. When those spawn, you will have to cast PS, HB, and SoJ in that order. If you're using a +energy primary weapon like I do, switch off to your wand after SoJ because they will use Energy Surge on you.
4. The Wardens should stop chasing you in the spot before Everthorn (outside of the mob's aggro), allowing you to recover some energy if Spirit was in the spawn.
If you notice in the terrain, a bit back before Everthorn there's a dip to the right. That's where you'll pull Everthorn. Why? Because all the casters will stay behind and that spot is out of their line of sight, which means that any spirit the Gaki would cast will not be able to reach you. After getting there, use PS + HB and SoJ when there are 2 or more things meleeing you. Use Stonesoul Strike on Everthorn when it's recharged and Everthorn is knocked onto the ground. Keep using your enchant tab for now but do NOT attack anything as they're most likely be covered with Tainted Flesh. I like to spam HB and PS here because you take a lot of damage with Barbs.
After most of the mob are dead, cast SoJ with your enchant tab, but switch to your wand tab and start wanding Everthorn, casting Stonesoul whenever, and leave HB off (keep only PS), and he'll drop in no time.
Video of the run: http://files.filefront.com/Everthorn.../fileinfo.html
A few things to note in the video:
1. In the equipment list I said I used Rajazan's, but in the video I used FFS. I decided that unless there's a Warden of Spirit, the +5 energy wasn't as beneficial as the 10% recharge.
2. After going past the narrow passage, in the really big empty place I casted a PS out of no where--I did that on purpose. Sometimes Guild Wars reports the wrong location to you, so that mob of Dragon Moss and Kirins may actually be near when it seems away. It happened to me quite a few times now so I'd rather use PS so I won't be killed by 1 Arc Lightning.
3. I got lucky that run because the Wardens used Lacerate + Bramble near there; it doesn't always happen and you can still kill him even if those spirits aren't there.
Edit1: FileFront is giving me a lot of trouble uploading the file. The file status keeps on saying Connecting... for some reason.
