The contest had nothing to do with writing and I understand that. I read 'em all in one sitting and it may have been an overdose.

But

I didn't think so. Rude, possibly - I'm certainly an opinionated person and I'm not shy about levelling the straight goods. Life would be a better place if we told the truth a little more often. But underhanded? It was antithetical to underhandedness! It was a blatant assertion!

And now for a philosophical observation, to round out our panel this evening (read: don't bother answering): how would I know if a piece of writing was to my taste if I did not read it?

Read, enjoy, digest, but please...if you feel the overwhelming NEED to critique...please show a little respect and decorum, and mind your language...

It's awfully convenient to sit back and criticize others' stories when you've risked nothing by submitting nothing of your own, seeing as how you just simply can't bear to be bothered with deadlines. But then, if "most people can't write for shit" is an indication of your writing skills, that's probably for the best you didn't enter.

Cjrl, you wouldn't go to a town fair's art show and expect Renoir, would you? Why go to a drawing showcasing amateur autobiographies and expect... James Frey?

I know how you feel, though. But that's just how much of humanity is; plain, simple. Most of them are young and uncaring, they follow the tracks lain by the majority. We can't judge a person who we do not know based on just one area. Many people have very redeeming qualities. Some may excel in fields that we fail miserably in.

I do find it hard to believe that you are a 14 year old boy, however. A person as literally affluent as you are... Well, it would only be natural to assume that you create and use characters. And you know how kids are today.

Besides, the in-game name you listed appears to be female. A person as seemingly arrogant as you are, and at your age, would probably have large qualms with using female characters (or, at least, not as a main ones).

As a side note, the "*cough* *cough*" emotes make it seem as if you don't intend to come off rudely, or that you are saying what you are jokingly. And what is the fun in that when you are giving harsh criticism?

I'm more then willing to take you on a writing competition. You're 5-0 behind in quality GW articles at the moment, and either today or tomorrow that will be 6-0 with my new GW article that is soon to be published.

If you can write a single article that will be as worthy for reading as the one that is about to published today/ tomorrow (title: Connecting with the spirit world), then you have won respect instead of being the silly badger that you are now.
What the level of 'worthy' is, will be determined by the general community. But honestly, I dare say you'll Stone Gollem on me and won't take the pen to write a quality read, and simply respond here with some crap reply.

The glove is thrown.

Perhaps a link to the winning announcement would be cool,

PS. Makkert, would you also like to have a discussion on the nature of the eternal hero, the psycology of the role-model/stereo-type, and the application in salvation ethics? Confrontation is perhaps not as needed here as an understanding of ethical mechanics. Just an option.

It is easy to talk down upon something. If that is the only contribution someone makes to a forum, I think it's fair game to show this person that he also reverse his crappy comments into something greater, to show 'how it should be done' according him, instead of staying soley on the criticaster row without any constructive comment.

Commenting with 'its crap' is easy, writing a good article (on whatever basis, be it rpg such as this forum, gamemechanic based or whatever) can take a long time.

Wow..and people tell me not to post worthless things.

I understand that this is a dispute about how good writing can take a long time and giving negative criticism (spelling?? ) is easy enough when you just don't like someone or are very opinionated (just like me! ), but frankly no one cares. Let it go, and let the world continue its orbit around the sun.
