It would be nice if, as a player, I could send mail or notes to another player (on my friends list). This would be useful to me, I'm sure to others as well, because I don't play everyday, and it would be especially useful to contact guild leaders or others when they are not online, and I am online.

This would be a simple little chat box type thing which would appear above the friends list (or even when you scroll over names on your f-list) and you could send a message (With a character limit, maybe 300 or so) to that player and they would receive it when they log on and open their friends list. You would put a subject, body, maybe even your little guys head .

I agree that there should be some sort of in-game messaging service.

I'm not really concerned with the format, as long as something is implemented to leave messages for others.

bump? btw I support this because it'd be nice to notify someone of something ('hey, I got that sword I wanted, so don't worry bout it' 'finish the next mission because I went ahead' etc..)
