Character slot problem

During the Pre order headstart I created 2 factions characters. I did not proceed with my purchase of factions: CE. I did not want to wait 2 months to get it. I log on tonight and delete my pvp character and do some RA. After deleting I could not create another character. Now I have 5 total slots with 2 characters I cannot log on to.

The 2 slots from the chapter 2 should not count as my chapter 1 charater slots.

if you didnt purchase Factions you were not entitled to the extra 2 slots to begin with.

they said clearly that those extra event slots would be locked until purchase of Factions.

ergo you still will have 2 locked slots until you delete the event slots.

I will eventually buy factions. Price will be falling soon. In any event the slots should be seperated from the slots I have purchased.

Try contacting GW support.

So they can tell me to post it on a forum just like ever other issue you report to them.

Price of Faction falling? I highly doubt that's anytime soon.

New release every 6 months. They will drop the price after 3 months of release. 2 months is soon in the business world.

GW has been out a year and Factions a month+ and how much has GW dropped? answer is not much for the old GW much less Factions

the reason the chapters will always have a support price and not wind up in the bargain bin 5 years from now is simple.

each copy (account) has a ongoing cost to it.

that means that Anet/NCSoft will simply not sell to the wholesaler at a bargain price to get the last few bargain dollars as a oneshot single player game with no expences would do.

Anet simply will make their minimum acceptable sale price as take it or leave it.

the wholesaler has to pay expences and show a profit

then the same for the retailer.

price support comes from Anet not selling below a fixed minimum price

I've already seen factions for $35. Much less from players.

back on topic the event slots are locked until purchase or deletion.

the account counts how many slots are in use and checks how many are available to that account which in your case is 4.

it will not allow you to create a fresh character until the character slot in use count equals 3 or less.

that means waiting to buy Factions or losing a weekends time and redoing when you get it.

hope you dont have valuables on the characters that are locked

I don't remember if they have valuables but I know they have a lot of gold on them so I won't delete them.

Anet should have had something set up to prevent this. Something else that they handled wrong. Seems like everything surrounding factions was done wrong.

ok, I'm kind of confused. You have the 6 slots from the factions pre-order, 5 characters, 3 of wich are prophecies, 2 factions and 1 pvp slot correct?. Now, you can't access the 2 factions characters, or the pvp slot and a character? If you can't access the 2 factions characters then nothing is wrong, because that is how it is supposed to be. If the pvp slot is blocked it was probablly an added factions slot, in this case I would delete a factions character and see if it frees up a pvp slot.

they had very specific warnings all over the place that anything you left on a character would be locked until you bought it.

there was even a few threads right here after the first event from people leaving good stuff on a locked character and they were lucky that character could be accessed on the next event.

you may not have seen it but the warnings were given.

also common sense should have said dont leave anything of value on them.

I have prophicies only. I pre ordered the Factions: CE. Instead of waiting 2 months after the game is released to get mine i cancelled my order and got my money back.

I have 3 pve prophicies characters. 2 FPE characters. I deleted my pvp slot to make another. After deleting that character I cannot create another one. The 2 FPE characters are counting for my prophocies slots.
