Mo/R Build
Faith the Insane
With this build , what kind of ranger skills would you use , and Could you use a bow , I see nothing wrong with that

Note: this applies to PvE only
Well, for my Mo/R I try to stick with pure monk skills. I used to use a bow and have points in marksmanship, but by the time party size increases to 6 I started to find myself too busy healing to be worried about doing damage, especially when enemies start laying on conditions. Of course, you could continue using a bow, but you'll be sacrificing the extra energy from a good wand/focus and skill slots to make use of the bow (not to mention the att points in marksmanship). Since you need an assortment of monk skills to be an effective primary healer, the only marksman skill I bring along with me if I'm using a bow is Read the Wind.
Of course, if you're planning on having backup healing you could make great use of a bow. Maybe a prot/divine/marksman build?
I've been using wilderness survival lately, specifically healing spring and storm chaser. If you've got a few good tanks who keep aggro far away from the casters and you aren't getting hit, a good healing spring in the middle of the caster group will heal the entire group as much as healing breeze could, all for 10 energy. If you cast it right before engaging the mobs you'll have a few seconds during which you don't have to worry about most of your party. Storm chaser is a great skill for when things get hairy and you need to run like my cat on bath day.

You would use 1-2 spirits. Though frankly ranger is probably the stupidest secondary in general for monks to use.
And no if you want a bow use primary ranger for expertise.

Care to detail why you feel that way...
I am down to Me or R for my monk... I plan on being a healer... and the pet skills are quite nice at 5 each mostly... the Wilderness stuff also appears to be an augmentation to a healer.
If I were planning to be the FOTM smiter I can see where ranger hurts as it does nothing to really augment survival or damage of a smiter.
