[story]
My mesmer, Celtor Dunough, of the Tyrian Highlands bought a fine set of Enchanters (15K) armor before making the trip to Cantha. Upon arriving in Cantha he wanted to fit in with the locals and bought a fancy schmancy silk outfit (1.5K Canthan). After some travels in Cantha and electing the Kurzick Faction he got some Kurzick Enchanters armor (15K + 180K for the amber) which just felt a little too heavy. Gold is just gold, heh? Upon sending the Shiero back to the underworld he passed on the opportunity to buy the Imperial armor but was still frustrated with the heavy look of the Kurzick armor.
What to do.
That is when he stumbled upon the Ascalon tailor who moved to Cantha and saw a set of clothes that matched the ones he had first worn so long ago. As the memories of beautiful Tyria washed over him he decided that this was the what he wanted to wear. He needed no fancy clothes to announce who he was or what he had done. He commisioned three sets of the armor for different occassions and donated all his other armors to Lyssa.
Memories of a less complicated time.

So am I crazy to have thrown away such money when I salvage all those expensive armors and lost three superior vigor runes in the process?
Am I crazy?

Guild Wars armours are all about the look so naturally you'd want to get your character looking as you think is best or most suited to you...
personally I like the 'heavy' look of the Kurzick armours so not liking it does seem like madness to me but like I said.. each to his own.
Its a shame you wasted sup vigor runes though.. normally if I make a heavy rune investment into armour I make sure I love it to bits first...

Meh do what you want in the game isn't crazy. I mean you did buy it for $50 so have fun with it. Just don't use cheats or I will eat your kids.

Nice story, nice ending. You're not crazy, no : you're a Mesmer. Style is a necessary ingredient...

wilson
definitely not crazy
all the cash i brought with me from tyria was gone in a couple of weeks, for skills, and of course, armor.
it wasnt that much but quite a lot for a "not so hardcore" player like myself
i just need to play through factions 1 last time with my ranger, and then i'll turn my back on cantha, i still prefer tyria

Good style wins battles. Fighting in uncomfortable clothes puts yourself at a disadvantage in battle^^
