W/Mo Darkwish Solo farm
Stee Janz
This is pretty much the basic W/Mo Build. Nothing special.

spec.jpg
Profession: W/Mo
Name: Darkwish Farmer
Type: Darkwish Solo Farmer
Attributes:
Healing Prayers 11
Strength 14 + 3 rune
Swordsmanship 11 +1 rune
Skills:
Sever Artery
Galrath Slash
Final Thrust
Tiger Stance Helps to kill quickly
Doylak
Healing Hands
Mending or live vicarously works as well
Sprint Only for the run. You don't need but it makes the run easier
Weapons:
I use a shield with -2 health + 45 while enchanted.
Victo's is always nice but not required. Life stealing is always a plus.
Summary:
Basically, I have been looking for boss to solo in Cantha that I haven't found in the forum yet. I have got alot of great farms from the forums and thought I would give one small cheesy one back.
Should be able to farm it quickly and frequently.
map.jpg
You leave out of Amatz Basin and its just a quick run down the hill to the North West. Sprint down the hill through the first groups. After you get out of the first two groups you will have to stop and let the Mantis's move out of the way. Stay to the left next to the wall. Once they move you out of the way just cross the stream and Darkwish and a couple of others are at the top of the hill.
There are only 4 Foes that spawn with a couple of different possiblilities. You will get Darkwish and a Earth Warden every time. The other two will be a Forester/ Wind Warden and Warden of Seasons/ Summer. The forester makes it a little tougher to do and is why the build requires Doylak. Without Doylak you will get knocked down all the time. If the Wind spawns then you don't really need Doylak.
You should always kill the Seasons/ Summer first. They seem to help heal if you don't. Darkwish constantly Casts Live Siphon and Spoil Victor on you. Life Siphon is easily negated by the mending (for an added bonus to +health regen you can get a blessing from the kurzick priest), but Spoil Victor can be a pain when you try to finish any of them. Spoil Victor Is an Elite hex that whenever target foe attacks or casts a spell on a creature with less health, that foe losses 5-50 health. So when you are trying to finish him you are taking health from yourself. With the forester beating on you at the same time you can die very easily. The only foe you want to kill before Darkwish is the Seasons/ Summer. Having the rest beat on you helps when you use healing hands.
Notes & Concerns:
If you are low on heath ( less than 100) and you just about have him beat dont go for the kill. It will kill you to. You just turn to the Forester (or other) and start beating on him and cast healing hands. Build your health and when it gets up to 300 or above turn back onto Darkwish or Season/Summer.
With 3 attacks and Tiger Stance you can kill the Season/ Summer very quickly but you can die as well. Spoil victor can hurt you bad when you increase your attack speed since every hit deals damage back on you. Just pay attention to your health and you will be fine.
If you pull them down the hill before you attack it will group them together so you can beat on another to save yourself. You will not need to beat on another everytime. Just when things don't go as well as you anticipated.
I haven't had a Necro character so I am not sure if the staff is that great or not. But you can solo it. I have gotten five in the last 2 days. Sold one for 25k and gave one to a friend.
I hope this doesn't waste space on the forum.
*edit *Update*
Since the last update Darkwish carries the staff all the time now. He doesn't drop it all the time, just carries it. Anet appears to have done this with all the bosses now. We will just have to fight them all the time now.
5 out of the 6 times he had the staff, he dropped it. The one time he didn't I had already gotten two and I was on my 20+ trip in a row.

You can probrably farm it with your other characters as well. If you can make it on the run and the Forester doesn't spawn.
chrislee149
Hm, tried this out, and I can't really heal myself well. Healing Hands is the only real heal, since Mending is negated, and it has a long downtime.

Healing hands should be good enough for 300-400 health. The trick is to only kill the seasons or the summer. If you let the others pound on you while you attack Darkwish, healing hands works better. One on one healing hands does not do that much for you, especially with Spoil Victor on you. It takes a little practice. I had to do it a few times before I got the timing down to make it on the first run without dying. You also have to be careful when healing hands runs out and your heath is low. If you hit tiger stance during this time it will be fatal. Remember that Spoil Victor deals damage to you on every hit.
I cast tiger stance with healing hands. And remember it takes longer, but if you are down to 100 health turn to another foe and attack him until you can charge HH. Then hit HH to get your heath back up to 75% or more. Then turn back to Darkwish. You may have to do this a couple of times to avoid death but it will work. He doesn't regen that fast.
It is also smart to avoid the traps and spirits from the Winds. Remember to pull them down the hill to avoid them if you can. Anything to negate the degen. Unitl you get the timing and the hang of it, get the Kurzick blessing. It will give you +6 to Health regen. You will not need it when you get the hang of it but it is nice.
Also you can try to slip another healing skill in for the sprint but the chances of making the run go down. You will not be able to stop at the Mantis to let them get out of the way because you will be dragging the others with you. Sometimes the fight the group your dragging and sometimes they kill you first.
Plenty of adjustments for this build. What ever honks your hooter.

I sold two of my three for 25k.....i guess its not that bad of a farm...
SlashR4
Interesting, will try this out since my 55 is still in Tyria
Angel Of Destiny
Could you maybe make a movie from it ?
Im trying to and so far i found the degen killing me more....

Stee Janz
Sure I will see what I can do.. Once you get the hang of it, you will be fine.
Stee Janz
I will have a video done late tonight early morning.
Stee Janz
I made a video per request. Hopefully it will help those who are having trouble. I almost die it in the video but I recovered in time. Didn't get the staff though.

Teh Diablo
Thats the same thing as a Fleshweaver from Tyria, just different skin.
I'll give it a shot.
Thanks
I'll give it a shot.

Brother Redmund
I think you will find it is not the same stats as the fleshweaver. This is 20/20 casting/recharge, where the fleshweaver is 20 recharge/reduce deep wound, although the HP bonus is the same. As a necro user, I find the darkwish is much more desirable.
Having said that, I find I can only kill him on certain spawns. Forester is no real bother, but for the life of me I can never kill the warden of seasons no matter what I do. Spirit Light seems to heal quicker than I can damage it. Warden of summer is no problem at all. I literally sat there in a stalemate for over 5 minutes hacking away at seasons with no real effect.
Anyway nice build again Stee, love your work and keep it up

Stee Janz
Thank you.
When your dealing with the seasons, you must remember to get him away from his spirit. As soon as you agro them he will cast the spirit. If you pull him away from it you will not have the problems with him eliminating him.

Ultimate Sacrifice
double post >.<
Ultimate Sacrifice
Problem is if a forester spawns, he'll weaken you and you'll do very little dmg if at all.
Stee Janz
It is harder with the forester because of weakening but you should be able to do it. It just take alot longer. You will also have to be careful at the end when your about take out darkwish since you will not be doing as much damage. Its all about the timing with Spoil Victor.
Ultimate Sacrifice
well it's impossible for me to beat him if there's a warden of the forest in there, other then that i can.
skyle1089
i cant kill him for the life of me! the season is imposible to beat, and the summer i beat ONCE then i died! i have gotten drakwish to about 20% health then i turned to another foe and died! ARGGGGHHHHHH

Watch the video I attached. Maybe that will help you.
You can also get the blessing from the Priest until you get better at it. This farm isn't the easiest but you should be able to do it. You can also try switching out one of the attack builds for something to help with heath if you. You could use Endure Pain to give you an added boost when you go for the kill.
But it is best to be patient. What most people do is go for the kill as soon as he get to 20 %, which can get you killed. Spoil Victor delivers a worse blow back to yourself so that how come you die alot. If you get around 150 health turn and fight the forester, when skills charge, hit Darkwish with the skills only and then turn away again. Helps reduce damage to you cuz your getting 50+ no matter what your dealing to him.

i cant seem to get it down hmph!
Ultimate Sacrifice
Finally I got it down, I can do this run with ease, just takes time like you said.
Got the Staff on my 6th run thanks for the build Stee.

Bloodied Blade
Would this be possible with an assassin?
Undead Preacher
I find that a version of the GB warrior build works best here!
skyle1089
wow unbelieveable! lol all i want is that stupid bird stick............
Stee Janz
No problem Ultimate and nice job.
Undead. I was wondering if grenth's would work better in this situation. I will have to try it and see since spoil victor deals the damage you do back to you when your trying to finishing him off. I find that when you get him low in health is when most of the damage is done to yourself by spoil victor. One would think that Grenths wouldn't work in this situation because there is nothing to steal. I will try and see what its like.

Wow freaking A**!!!! i can kill the stupid rit no problem. i can get him to where he is low on health enough to make spoil victor work so im swinging away at the hammer guy. when my skills are recharged and my health is around 300 i turn and use though skills then return to beating on the hammer guy, BUT he still seems to screw me over somehow! im soooooooo furious right now that i almost broke my mouse.
if your on and would like to show me how to do this run my IGN is By The Way

You must be talking about the seasons. Pull him away from his spirit. When you agro, he will drop his spirit. Turn around and run back a bit until you see him coming. If you target him he can tell hes moving by the mini map. When he pulls away turn back and go straight to him and kill him.
Remember spoil victor works on you when you killing the ritualist to. So make sure you have plenty of health when killing off the ritualist.

yep.. The seasons drop spirits as soon as you agro. They are harder to kill when they are standing next to their spirits. By agroing then pulling the seasons away, he loses the benefit of his spirit.
Paramounts_of_Odin
New to here, I was wondering how you can have all those attribute points (11, 14, and 12), but still have 515 health, and 30 energy.
-().T).I.N.
-().T).I.N.
Stee Janz
I have one superior rune, 2 minors and a shield and sword with +30 each.
malevolence
Just wonder , how can you get :
Attributes:
Healing Prayers 11
Strength 14 + 3 rune
Swordsmanship 11 +1 rune
???
What is the base of Strength ? 11 ? impossible
I can make this [Base]
Healing Prayers 11
Strength 10
Swordsmanship 10
Without runes. Or maybe you mean using a helm that give u +1 strength + 3 of a sup. rune ¿

I have tried this asswell yesterday, same problem as some of the others here I guess. I can get to him no problem, I agro them and pull them down the slope. I target the seasons/summer first to kill them. I die before i can even get rid of that one
Well was just wondering if this is still doable after the armor upgrade, Stee I know you are using the 100 armor I have glads everywhere accept on the chest where I have 80+20(vs physical)+10(while in stance)
I can farm the armored cave spiders in FoW fine with this armor, but there is something I am missing with Darkwish

Yes I have the helm With +1 to strength to give me +4. BUt I will double check tonight to make sure I don't have a type-o.
Arangja
I did it once since the update but that was with a ranger warden which makes the run a ton easier. The warden of the forest sucks cuz he puts weakness on you. So substituting a attack with a condition remover should help. He will throw it back on you so Mend aliment would be a better choice. You could also substitute vigourous spirit to help witht the health. You can also take the blessing from the priest. That would give u + 6 to health regen or 5 if your using a victo's blade. I usually don't get the blessing but it should help until you get comfortable with it.
Everyone should remember that spoil victor can kill you while you are attacking the rit so be careful.
