20k bounty on Ferocious Strike
SirJackassIII
Here's the catch: I want a SS of the map and the name of the boss that has it in CANTHA
Ferocious Strike is a core skill, but it seems it can't be found in Cantha (yet), or no one took the trouble of reporting the boss to both GuildWiki and Xennon's Elite skill list. I haven't encountered a boss with the skill either.
Seeing as someone put a bounty on whoever found Assassin's Promise, I thought I'd do the same.
Oh, and the bounty is off when ANet adds the skill of course.
Sidenote: I own both Prophecies and Factions, and I already have it. Just wanted to let people know this skill isn't available yet, or if it is, to make it become public where to find it.

Having a serious beastmaster ranger, I would take up the challenge...but I already have it good luck!
(Enraged Lunge > Ferocious Strike)

Curse You
This is a thing I noticed recently, there is no known Canthan boss with the skill. Maybe they forgot to include the boss, or gave it the wrong elite?
Rhedd
As a dedicated beastmaster, I'd argue against Enraged Lunge being better, but as that's not the topic, I just have to say, sorry. I haven't seen a boss use that skill in Cantha.

although ferocisous strike is a core skill a according to my sources (guildwiki)
there is no boss with it in factions, so if u only own factions your just going to have to wait till anet fix it.
and ferocisous strike is much better on a bunny.

Lets Get to Healing
w00tsauce more skills with no bosses.
Curse You
I looked at the Canthan ranger bosses, and only one boss stands out as being an unessicary holder of an elite. Daeman has the elite Broad Head Arrow, and yet two bosses come before him with the same elite (both aflicted).
As well, Daeman's team is the only one in the Boreas Seabed mission with pets (crabs ). So I would hazard to guess that Daeman was supposed to have Ferocious Strike, as it would plainly make sense.

Silent Kitty
There is also a chance that it's a random boss, who doesn't appear every time when you pass his spot.
Curse You
First of all, none of the Factions bosses do that.
Second, there is one boss who for some reason now spawns twice in the same spot. Maybe they did something like that (only reversed) for this boss.

There is a beastmaster boss outside of Kurzick Jade Flats, not sure what elite though.

this has been noted in a couple of threads. i have personally sent 3 bug reports into a-net back before assassins promised was finally put in. the response i got was something automated about developers taki9ng all suggestions under consideration, but after the third report they added assassin's promise, and i didn't care enough about ferocious strike to keep bugging them. i think everyone else already got it from prophecies anyways, so they didn't get as much fan mail off this one and gave up on it as well.
death fuzzy
not every elite can be found in cantha...
so your bounty is pointless.
This is not a programming error. Anet does this to force you into buying prophecies.

@deathfuzzy this post is there because ferocious strike is listed as a CORE skill core skills are capeable of being captured on both continents, ie hundred blades, echo, signet of judgement, etc. ferocious stike SHOULD be capeable of being captured in cantha which it is not at the present time.

I must be missing something. Where is it listed as a core skill? I went to the Guild Wars site and read through the ranger skills. Nowhere there could I find a list that was the core skills list.

Also, go roll a PVP character--on the PVP char creation screen, choose to sort by campaign. Ferocious Strike is listed under Core.
Fyre Brand
Well guild wiki isn't always accurate so I'm not taking that for a reason it's a core skill, but if it's listed under the pvp character as a core skill then that would make sense.

I'm willing to bet this gets fixed in the coming weeks when they get enough other minor bugs to fix, warranting another update.
My Sweet Revenga
Only beast mastery elite skill I can ever remember is from that guy in explorable closer to the stars area, nahpui quarter I think. Pretty sure it's not ferocious lunge though. As for whether the skill is core, if you got that info from guildwiki I wouldn't trust it 100% since guildwiki isn't always right about some stuff. One way to find out is if somebody with a ranger who has the skill can open up their skill list and toggle the skill order arrangement. I think there's an option to list by campaign and I think the sections are tyrian, canthan, and core (or prophecies, factions, and core I can't remember). If it shows up in core, then ANET should be informed. If it shows up under prophecies/tyrian, then you have your answer and you'll need to buy the 1st game.

Outside Amatz Basin, Darkroot spawns twice, but the second one used to be an ele boss.

Agreed. Faction's is a standalone, therefore, it does not need Prophecies to function, therefore Faction's comes by itself.
death fuzzy
Big deal if its a core skill
Go to prophecies and cap it...
And if you are going to say you didnt buy it, then you're just missing out.

It *is* a big deal - maybe not for this chapter, but when theres 5 chapters+ are you reasonably going to expect everyone to have all of them? Its a core skill it has to be in all chapters, or the whole point of core skills is gone. Mabye in chapter 3 they will forget to add a barrage boss, will you be telling people to not care then?
SirJackassIII
Wow, I was going to let it die due to the faint responses I got when I first posted, and now it's back up.
Anyway:

Sorted skills by Campaign as you can see, Core skills are listed on top and I had to scroll down just a bit since it wouldn't fit. So, Ferocious Strike SHOULD be in but isn't. GuildWiki is wrong sometimes, but they're right now.
Beastmaster bosses in game:
Royen Beastkeeper: in Nahpui Quarter explorable, has Enraged Lunge
Salke Fur Friend, outside Jade Flats (Kurzick Side), has Heal as One
Chehbaba Roottriper, has Beastmaster skills, usesTrapper's Focus as an Elite, does not have pets near him to charm, giving him an pretty useless skillset (Uses Viper's Nest as only skill)
There are no other Ranger bosses that have/use Beastmaster skills (Ryver Mossplanter has Lacerate which is linked to BM, but uses no real pet skills).
The whole point of Core skills is that they are available in all chapters.

I think the whole idea was for Aurora to have a pet. Did you notice how she keeps on saying sometihng along the lines of: "Hector's hungry, can you feed him?", "Dont eat that Hector, its bad for you stomach" (or something along that lines). If a hench has a beastmaster skill it would probably be Aurora.
Edit: This is when you take her as a hench later on, dont know what she says in the Boreas mission.

I'd actually have prefered seeing a Beastmaster hench, instead of Aurora now (have never taken her into the group TBH)

Kinda like how Su tells monster's how they'll "make a fine minion", when she's never raised a minion in her life >.>
