hi all well i had to take my canthan necro to tyria to cap SS

so i got to beacons perch and found a runner (this isnt a runner flame)

joined the team and well some guy starts saying ne1 wanna buy a factions code

i say

"dude, its illegal and u can get ure account banned"

he said

"its ok my m8 at anet sayed its kk"

so i took screenies of wat him and me sayed

i nvr used any bad language nvr flamed him i just repeated that i was illegal to sell a account code in game

so he said something like

"dont talk crap or ma m8 will ban youre account"

i also got the first name his m8

should i send the pics to anet or not, do u think he was talking crap, but with that threat at the end feel the need to send them

if anything it sounds like "his mate" if he even exists, is impersonating an Anet employee, which is a highly bannable offense.

I would report it post-haste.

you're not breaking the EULA if u trade cd-key for in game GOLD. but i would be cautious because it's very easy to scam in these trades.

To OP.

This happens all the time, people claiming the know people from "A.net" or who claim they work for "A.net". If people do, just report them, or ignore them since its not worth the time or trouble.

Also we have a rule about correct and full English on this forum, please less of the shorthand. It makes the post sloppy and annyoing the read, and you run the risk of people not taking you seriously.

Plus its just plain lazy. haha

That is debateable, I don't think your allowed to trade a CD-Key for ingame gold or real cash.

sorry im playin GW as well as typing here so i keep going back into GW speak<--LOL

and you cant trade a account for ingame money my friend got his banned when he stopped playing GW (a WoW'zer now) and when he tried to sell it he couldnt then he tried to log on and it displayed a ban message

I know the feeling which is why I tend to never use short hand in or out of game... lol

Like I said, I would report the guy if you feel he upset you. No one should be allowed to push people around just because the 'claim' to know someone from "A.net".

I think trading a key for gold wouldn't be much different than trading real money for gold. It's still trading a real life product/resource for an ingame one, which is against the rules.

he never updetted me im 17 nothin really upsets me he just got ma mad thinkin that he could do anything he wanted because he "has a friend" in Anet

Selling accounts in-game is illegal, Gaile has specificially said so many times, there's no doubt about that. As for this guy, report him ASAP (like other said before). If he truely has a friend in ANET, who told him it's okay, then both he and his friend would get in trouble. The most likely thing is that he's lying, in which case he's guilty of two things: selling an account in-game, and impersonating an ANET employee.

i think we should ask a.net if it's illegal or not. as far as i know, it's ok. it's like giving sum1 u know something and they give u gold. i've never hears it's against the EULA because nobody is making money proffit fom it. it's a simple trade.

for example i've traded my diablo2 cs-keys got gw gold. same should go for gw cd-key for gold.

He most likely to get banned for saying he knows someone from 'Anet' who will ban you. That is a serious offence- report him.

No use the support link I gave above and post your comment there and update the screenies, a A.net support will assist you there.

There is nothing to ask about, A.net themselves and devs have stated it not allowed. Diablo2 is a completely different game in question, even if you did get gw gold.

Trading a CD key for ingame gold or real money is a bannable offence.
