Concerning Green Drops

Do bosses have to be holding the respective green item for it to drop or can they drop greens regardless if they are holding the right item?

They drop greens regardless of whether the graphic shows them as holding it or not, as long as they are supposed to drop from that boss (see guildwiki for a listing of what bosses drop which greens).

Also make sure that you don't take henchies to farm these greens. The reason is that henchies eat up drop-rate so more henchies you have on your team. The less likely you'll get the greens.

Whether you're with real or henchie players, the drops you'll get are the same, just that with real players you see ALL drops. With henchies, you'll only see the drops that real players get and won't see when the henchies get the drop. So it would seem there are fewer drops when it's just not the case, you just see only your drops.

I was just asking to make sure I don't waste time farming bosses who won't drop their items.

New question: What if I lure the boss to NPCs and they help kill it? Does the rate of dropping still remain the same? Also, what if another hostile group attacks the boss in question?

Yes they do but, I got a green mesmer staff with a full hench team.Had to change my drawers after from shock.Thats kinda like getting a req8 Fell from shiverpeaks chest

I read in the farming section that if Ssaki is NOT holding the wicked blade[green ssaki sword ] then he will NOT drop it.Can anyone confirm this?

Other than that, most bosses you can't even see what there holding if anything.

I've gotten Tanzit's Defender with a full hench team before.

someone can correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe in order to get a drop or experience points, your team must do a least 50% of the damage to the creature.

I read the same thing, W/N build I believe. The author stated that you need to make sure he is holding the sword or else you're wasting your time...or something like that. I decided to test this, it isnt true. I have gotten two of Skkai's swords while he was holding some other weapon. Not only that, but I also found that more often than not, he would be holding his sword and not actually drop it. This is while soloing by the way, so henchmen or other players didnt get it.

In my experience of farming Sskai, yes, he has to be holding it but I have read that it has dropped for players when he wasnt holding it.

My stats, 30 kills without holding it, 0 Sskai swords, 7 kills while he was holding it, 5 Sskai swords. Mileage may vary, as always.

you sure? because i got Sskai's sword on the third try with henchmen and i cant solo sskai, thats why
