That armour is also availible on prophecies, iirc, it's called 'Monk's Armour' and has no bonuses.

/agree, they both use signet of devotion, IMO, that healing sucks. They need to bust out some boon prot, or some boon healing with Mantra of Recall.
I wish you could also equip the skills of your choosing to henchmen, that would be a fitting idea but might be too overpowerful, because then whats the point of getting mad at a PuG every so often?
