Can I get to the Deep without a ferry ?

I have been ferried to the Deep several times..why can't I go there by myself, and why isn't it on the map ? Obviously those that do the ferrying must have it on their map.
Curious.

The ferry is done by a member of the alliance that owns the town. I believe they speak to the Fireworks master and he teleports the party to the deep. It is not on the map, you need to control the town or get a ferry.

It's not on anyone's map. The ferry talks to the Sentry in the capital city to get into the restricted area. Once in the restricted area, there is an NPC to talk to that takes the group to the elite mission area. It's not the fireworks master.

I heard the some peoples charge for ferry while other take you there for free.

Currently the only way to get into the Elite Missions is to Either own the out post (godly ammounts of faction donated) or be Ferried. Gaile mentioned something about a way for normal people to get in other than ferrying, but hasnt been able to give us any specifics, and most of the time what she says comes true in time. The elite Missions do not have a map marker on the map rather they have to talk to a specific NPC in the town owners special area of the town and they will warp the team to the Elite mission.

I'm a nice guy, I ferry for free. Sometimes I even get tipped (got a jadeite once ).
