Has anyone else found a bug with their /age? Or does ANet do new math?

My main character was invited to my guild on 5/31/05; no alias, no other name shows in parentheses when moused over, she was my first character. When I do /age, even on today, June 1, it shows that I am only 11 months old.

I have a screenshot showing /age, guild roster, date invited, my character’s name, but I can’t post it here because I haven’t had time to block out my guild members’ names.

Has anyone else had this strange bug? I want my birthday present!

Guess I’ll send it to support.

I had a character that I made months ago. When I did the /age, it said it was only 36 days old.

I have a friend who just started playing and discovered some similar strangeness:

When you look at the time and see that's 4PM then on the other side of the world it could be 4AM.
There can be a time difference of up to 23-24 hours so it can easily be June 1st here and where the servers are it could still be last month. Which would be current month.
Which would be history. AH screw it

So... I created my character May 31st U.S. time, but it did not exist until it caught up with the British server time of June 1?

I'm glad we got this all cleared up.

My friend Noodle also has been stuck at 11 months for about than 2-3 months now, which soudns uncannily similar to the OP's story..

EDIT: and having just taken the time to read the whole thread, the OP's problem ended in under a day.. Noodle's is over 2 months ¬_¬

You should probably be careful about playing during Daylight Savings Times... Or, were you on your laptop travelling on the highway, and changed time zones?

My husband has noted that the age of his oldest (first) character only goes back to the day his guild was created, however; since he did not create his guild in pre-searing because he didnt have the cash for it for a while with a brand new account on a game he had never played before and he was clueless about guilds at that time----he knows that it was older than the /age says. Maybe pre-searing doesnt count? So he has to wait until the end of this month before his age hits 12 months. (though he swears that he had the game in May last year and was playing it with that character........).
Oh well, whats a few extra days (I have to wait until August!)

Ok, so I havn't seen the real answer yet, character age can be shown as more because it isn't added to the total time until you log or get on another character (at least with me)...Try this it should work out

About a month or so after release, all character ages were reset for whatever reason, but account ages were not.

Hey at least you guys didn't lose a char altogether. Me and my girl who also plays, started our elementalist on the same day and everything. We both stopped playing for about 2 months and when we started playing again, she didn't notice until I asked her if she wanted me to help her lvl her elem a bit. She said yes and went to get her and realized then that she was gone.

Account got hacked?

That should not happen under any circumstances.

"About a month or so after release, all character ages were reset for whatever reason, but account ages were not."

so if this is the case, why do others have their pets---if the ages were reset?
Still doesnt make sense, how does this relate to your birthday?

This happened to me too. I created my character the night I bought the game. I actually dug up the confirmation email from creating my account. My character turned 12 months old about 2 days after his actual birthday. (I got a bone dragon though, so it's all good. )

Britain only has one time zone. And if it had been DST, wouldnt it be an hour out instead of a few minutes? (and made both the numbers change rather than just one)
