Should I Buy this & Is this trusted?

Well, I'm finnaly looking for a new graphics card. I have a PCI slot, and a PCI slot only. I am looking for teh best graphics card money can buy that supports PCI.

Um, that's an AGP card. You actually copied and pasted the specs without noticing that...?

But I have bought from mwave before, once or twice, and I don't recall any problems from them.

There are 1 or 2 PCI 6200's out there. One made by BFG, one by 3dfuzion (a BFG daughter company).

It's probably the best you're gonna get for PCI. 6200 isn't a bad low-end chip. And for 90$, it's not a bad deal.

Says pick-up only, so if you have a store close by... Best Buy carries that also. Not sure if the 6200 can really make use of the 256MB, wish I could help you there...

Did you just said PCI? Not PCI-E?

PCI graphic cards are no longer manufactured.

I don't think you'll find PCI graphic cards in stores, you may find them in gurage sales or those old computers that offices throw away

On top of that, YOU CAN'T PLAY GW with graphic card that use PCI slot.

GW support g-cards back to GeForce2, which uses AGP (Accelerated Graphic Port) slot.

Seriously, you'll never be able to play Oblivion with a PCI card! I tell you, that game sucks up more resources that FEAR ever did. Unless you want to go down the new motherboard and graphics card route I'd forget about Oblivion.

As for your original question, the best PCI card you're going to get is that 6200 mentioned above. I can't comment on any ATI cards though as I'm an Nvidia guy myself. Take a look here, I'm assuming you're in the Colonies though.

oooo that wont happen till u have a higher end video card, and by higher end I mean at least 7000s series for nvida. and a really good motherboard and ram to boot.

only having a PCI slot doesnt give much inclination that u'll ever be playing oblivionanytime soon unless u do a complete overhaul

yea thats the min, req, dont believe that crap. thats around the same req as battelefield 2 had and trust me 512ram and 6600gt and I still had massive lag. bet u anything that your comp cant take obvilion for more than a few minutes without crashing, thats if u get it to work...

There's no contest between a 5200 and a 6200. Get the 6200.

Seriously, Oblivion is one of the most demanding games out there. Now way can a low-end card allow you to play it at a reasonable speed or at decent visual quality.

People are buying X1900XTs for Oblivion and this guy is comparing a 5200 to a 6200 -_-

Have fun with the slideshow. Just upgrade your motherboard to one that supports PCI-E, or at least AGP3.0.

It's not as uncommon as you think. Many, many, store-bought computers (HP, Compaq, e-machines, etc) over the past few years have had shit-for-brains motherboards with no upgradability.

Goto www.pricewatch.com you can find the cheapest prices on everything there. The 6200 card can be found for $65. And pci cards are still being made, just not as many as before.

But on the site you can check for other cards that fit your requirements.
