LBS Lornar's Worm Trick #1 (VIDEO)

Hello everyone!

For those of you who don’t know me, my most common in game name is Sir Craig Gordon. I am leader of the guild LBS.
Many of you know about our old thread, the LBSRA thread which is now closed.

Some of our most closely guarded running tricks and strategies were developed by me personally. I have decided to post one of these in particular as a gift to all of the Guild Wars community. I will also post the video showing exactly how it works. The name of this trick is THE LORNARS WORM TRICK #1. I have decided to post this one in particular for several reasons.

1. It was discovered and developed by me personally
2. It deals with Droknars Run, the most popular run in the guild wars game.
3. To prove that LBS has a lot more up their sleeves than a simple running build.
4. The fear that someone else will discover it and post it anyway.
5. The fact that many very experienced runners don't really need it anyway. It is more of a trick to get around a problem that many times is simply impossible to negotiate. It is the perfect solution for beginning and practicing runners, and for expert runners that simply don’t want to deal with a “horrible” spawn.
6. The fact that it has one great disadvantage to it. And that disadvantage is that you need to intentionally die one time to get it to work consistently.
7. You may ask “But won’t this cause even more totally unqualified runners claiming they can make it to Droknar’s”? Nah. It won’t last long. Some time after this posting, Arenanet will undoubtedly step in and do their dirty work. Nerf city.

Please keep in mind that this not THE way of running Lornars, but only A POSSIBLE way of running it.

The Lornars Worm Trick # 1 is a solution to get through the single hardest part of the entire Droknars run. This is the first Frost Wurm area in Lornars Pass heading up into the Avicara corridor. While no runner can negotiate this part of the run 100% of the time, this trick allows you to CONSISTENTLY get through this area easily regardless of spawn type! How? It completely removes all Frost Wurms from the area! They are gone! Totally gone! And, if they are gone, that also means there is no chance of a chaser spawn to follow you all the way to the first troll cave.

Check the video out here. Lornars Worm Trick #1. Make sure you right click and "Save Target As...". It’s too big to stream directly. I think that even expert runners will enjoy this video.

Thanks, good luck, and happy running!

Not to put you down or anything or flame, but the drok run is very easy. What i do is when about to aggro teh wurms, but there still not there, use balanced stance and charge. They should be off of you in a couple of seconds. I never died doing this, I dont know about others.

But all in all. Thanks for the video. Can really help people who are new to this.

This is not a bad trick, but the prospect of having to die and losing hp isn't going to be great for the rest of the run. Wurms are definitly hardest part to shake on drok run, but to the unexperienced runner there is a lot more to this run than getting through the first wurms. Learning the skills for a drok run is pretty much common sense. The hardest part of this run is learning the spawns and getting your timing down. Which the only way you can learn is to practice. No one can really teach you these things just come natural the more you practice the run. But yeah, this will probably get nerfed since you posted it.

You don't have to use a candy cane if you don't want. And yes, the prospect of having to die once is one of the reasons I am giving it up. But still, it does teach you a lot about the Frost Wurm AI and its a great way to get around having to deal with horrible spawns and chaser spawns.

This trick is great for runners who cannot make it past the worm cave 90 - 95% of the time, if you make it more than 95% of the time then this is just a waste of time.

If you can't make it past the worm cave 90% - 95% of the time theres probably less of a chance that you complete the run with the downed hp. The problem probably lies in your timing or maybe a skill or 2. Anyone can get past the wurms with some practice. I was making it consistently after a week of running people. If you get a bad spawn in that area after you get through lornars pass your all but finished with less hp. I actually find out some things like this by accident.

I run with 380 HP when I have no DP, on a character with no -HP superiors they will have 385 HP with -15% DP, if you are not using a fort mod. (I never use fort mods). I can make it when doing this trick and with -15% DP with around 290 health. The only part that is even a little challenging is the cave, if I can make it with 290 HP I am sure anyone could make it with 385 HP when there are no wurms. (You should also be getting +45 health while in stance/+60 health while hexed, while at the same time taking -2/-3 damage).

i still do runs for guildies and stuff for droks and recently i stopped because its a waste of my time when they dont even pay or when i get scammed by others. The money isnt worth the time, i may as well farm devourers outside of ascalon city. Inever did find a use for mending, i used all the other skills but that one was sort of useless and can be replaced with something else..possibly mend ailment.

Mending and Mend Ailment are two very different skills. They do not have any similarities. However, Healing Breeze could and is often used in place of Mending. Ess Age, Im not sure what your comment means, but the fact that someone may or may not use mending on a run in no way means that they are a noob, and, the video is not about Droks running builds, its about the worm trick.

What this thread is about it the fact that you guys charge too much. I can get a run to Droks for 1k; sure, the guy may die a couple times, and we may have to restart, but we will get there... even if it takes 5 hours.

Or you can pay the standard 3k with a decent runner and get there within half an hour.

Has anyone tried to do the run with the big nerf to damage reduction? Seems like it would be much harder without LBS's "patented -10 damage reduction"...

hey waddup gordon! long time no see.

One thing though...
I know you, and brutanu are pretty good runners... shame your in LBS (IMO anyway.)

However, the problem isn't the good runners in LBS... Its the really bad ones... :/ Even with or without this trick, my R/W can get through the worm spawn 90%+ of the time... why can't w/mo's?

Thanks for the info! the 182 mb size of the video more then makes up for resolution, what really makes a video good is the shrinking of it without diminishing much of its quality

I am 100% in agreement there. Although compressed, the video is still rather large for just that reason. I cant stand poor resolution. People may not agree with the content, but you have to admit, the quality of the video is great.

That LBS -10 damage reduction is old information and no longer used. I definitely notice a difference in combined armor and shield protection when in the middle of Ice Imps or Siege Ice Golems. But not too bad. I always try to avoid all but the first ice imps anyway.
