Ecto price going to keep rising?

ive been watching the the ecto prices lately and i was wondering if its going to go any higher. to about 14k like old days

Me personaly i would say yes because keep in mind THERE IS ONLY 1 F.O.W

I hope they don't go higher, but for the time being most likely they will.

My best guess is due to supply and demand. Less people are farming ToPK and UW for Ectos, plus everyone likes the look of the new Factions armors over FoW. Then there was the bug a few days ago which slowed down Ecto supplies.

So many factors.

Anyway, they are back up to 7K at trader, wonder which way the price will go...

Personally I don't think they will go past 9k.

He means theres only 1 FoW armour. If ecto's only dropped in the FoW from that one part of one of the quests, then they'd be rarer than Superior Absorption was.

Sorry yes that's what i ment was there is only one set of fow armor, meaning that you use ecto's only for armor in FOW i know where it drops I think lol laterzzzzzzzz

I think once everyone realized that rubys and sapps. were well..usless....AS USUAL they were like OH SNAP TIME TO GO GET FOW!! and more n more ppl got it increasing price XD

not true anymore lol absorb runes have gone down in price dramatically with the relase of factions there are less warrior players and if there are most of them already have the rune.

prices of ecto imo will drop or stay at its price for a while

don t know if it s relavent or not but 1 of anets updates said fixed a bug that was not allowing ecto and shards to drop. this might have caused the spike in ecto going up as that now people would be more inclined to keep it then sell to the merc.

I believe that some of the ecto price boosting may be due to the fact that players are now using them as currency even if they dont want them for crafting, it makes them like our banknotes (or 'bills' to non uk-ers) in that they can be readily exchanged for goods that you do actually want because they hold their value well and can be readily converted into real wealth (in so much that GW gold can be called real wealth anyway lol but you know what I mean)

I'm glad I didn't flog the ecto I kept - might be useful to collect more of the in the future.

WTF!? Things in the Maguuma Jungle drop ectos??? I knew the Banshees in FoW can drop em (only seen it once though) but never things in the jungle...

Yeah that bug was annoying, i'd say ectos are gonna stay steady though, then go back down again till people stop farming again. It'll be a sort of cycle, 55farmers holding onto there stash till they go back up then flogging em all, they go down and repeat.

They might go up randomly if plenty of people decide to get the Assassin/Ritualist FoWs... but i think i'll keep on going for my Mesmers. As soon as i can be bothered to buy 40 ectos

Bah, should have stocked up when trader was selling em for ~5K. Now they are back up to 8K -_-

Not sure what happened in the last week to increase the price again. Maybe because I no longer see Sapphires in the trader window?

well im going to try the jungle dropping today but i doubt ill get anything...and yes i should have read it more clearly lol made me look noobish...

There are so many factors involved...
- Droprate looked like it was "nerfed" and people bought ecto from merch.
- The hardcore players all finished factions, did the elite mission and came back to fow/uw. They didn't need ecto or shards at all because they were doing quests and missions and now they move back into the business. Factions was vacation for them.
- The amount of ecto in player's hands is decreasing as more and more people buy the new assassin and ritualist fow armours. Less ecto in circulation means higher price I guess.
- The ebayers finished factions and are buying ecto straight off the merchant.


Prices are going up and down like crazy. One second it's 9k, the other it's down to 6. Same with amber, One second it's 1.9k then 5 mins later it's up to 2.5

Imo, the merchants need a larger stock because the way it looks, 1 player seems to have the ability to change prices drastically.

The price to buy/sell Ectos at a merchant may go up, but it doesn't mean it will be worth that much to gamers. If it goes up to 10k, I'm sure people just won't pay that much for one from the merchant or other gamers. Just like in the House of Hetlzer, Amber used to be 3k each(i made a killing off it ). Then people just refused to buy it for that much and finally the sellers sold them for less and less.

smart. i usually do that too if the prices are super high, hey i can wait, why waste money? The prices change about every 5 mins. For example the monk runes - they went to an all time high - but then 1 week later bam back to decent normal prices. Basicaly supply and demand. Nothing more to it then that..

And btw need they add the running out of stcok for merch to prevent people from always buying form the merchent? or just to make it realer
