Axe Mastery - 12 + 1 + 3
Strength - 9 + 1
Tactics - 9 + 1

1. Eviscerate
2. Executioner's Strike
3. Penetrating Blow
4. Distracting Blow
5. Frenzy
6. Sprint
7. Healing Signet
8. Resurection Signet

EDIT - Gear

Executioner's Helm
Gladiators - Chest, Leggings, Gloves
Ascalon - Boots

Axe - I use a Req 8 15^50 Great Axe w/ 3/1 Vampiric and +5 Defense
Shield - 5 Less DMG 20 / 20 +30 HP

Thats what i'm thinking as a normal party / hench friendly PvE build. I'm fairly certain its a relatively common build, though i'm curious what your thoughts on it are. Thanks to Katari for explaining a few of the finer points to me.

Actually, that's a pvp warrior.. !

Maybe you should mention that when joining pugs, because they think most warriors are stance tanks, not with frenzy&healing signet

Oh lol, pretty obvious i'm not a Warrior first, xD I assumed one would be able to effectively use a similar setup in PvE, as all of the skills seem as though they would work well. From my use of the build in the time i've been testing it, albeit not that long, its worked ok. Although thats with henchies....

You'll be doing great damage..just tell your pug I actually prefer damage warriors over stance tanks.

Yeah, I think I would aswell. Just seems as though doing nothing but absorbing damage would get a bit boring. We can do more than one thing, lol.

For Pugs/henchies I pretty much run that or something along those lines... my experience has been that most pugs aren't "tank" friendly, so doing more damage/etc seems more effective since it almost always seems that the monsters are beating on that elementalist that likes to run out front to soak up hits.

Sorry my last string of pugs has been terrible... although when really "tanking" stances can help a lot (obviously... :-p).

i run damage with watchyourself, heres my pug pve build:

Smite: 11
Swordmanship: 16
Tactics: 10

Sprint
Quivering Blade {elite}
Final Thrust
Flurry
Watch Yourself
Healing Signet
Rebirth
Strength Of Honor

Naturally i what i do with this build is just keep soh on and use flurry, with flurry i spam quivering blade over and over until they are below 50% and final thrust, i spam watch yourself while i do this and keep up a constant +20 al for the whole group, i figured the +20 al would help out some if it hit everyone as well as me

rofl, and now for the henchy build, i dont do what normal tanks do when i hench, what i think of henchies is, to me they are a weapon, so my build is based on using them like a weapon

15 tactics
12 protection prayers

Capture Signet (mainly cus i cap most things alone)
Charge {Elite}
Bonetti's Defense
Flurry
Watch Yourself!
Shields Up!
Healing Signet
Rebirth

with this i just use the +10% attack speed wand and build up adrenaline and spam shouts, i gained a way of controlling henchies with this combo, luring agro and controling agro period, this helped me solo ring of fire, abbadon's mouth, hell's precipe, arborstone, unwaking waters, naphui quarter, Tahannaki Temple, Raisu palace, Thirsty river, elona's reach, ice caves of sorrow, and iron mines of donahue, all with henchies

Elementalist earth defence spells like armor of earth or mesmer mantras and spells like distortion. Of course monk as a secondary when used properly can assist in both damage and defence.

TBH most monks won't tell the difference, since 'stance tank' will tank but still get agro all over the place, I have yet to see a pug give the warrior enough room to gather agro properly.

Damage heavy wars will clean out the mobs faster while still suffering similar damage. Just as long as they dont frenzy heal sig, everythings fine.

I'd just make a suggestion though, tweak your str/tact ratio to 8+1str and 10+1tact. Since at 9 str you get your 12 seconds of sprint, whereas the extra tactics means your heal sig works better.

If you are worried about damage mitigations, just take watch yourself instead of penetrating.
