The Armour Combination Thread

well, that's looking good, I'd say... destroyer gauntlets and sunspear top go well together

Pretty easy to tell what it is.
I'm aware the dyes don't match. It's going to take a lot of dyes to fix and, by that time, the armor pieces will have changed as I'm still pretty new to Guild Wars entirely. Hoping to switch the Torso and Leggings for Necrotik 15k using the same boots and gloves.

Posted this is the Necro thread before I saw this thread. I didn't exactly plan it, but the idea came to me when buying new stuff for my old unleveled Necro. I'm quite pleased with it.

While I'm slightly disgruntled that combo armour will never be able to be added to the Hall of Monuments (and my Elementalist's armour will possibly never be added because despite having Ancient armour he has a Canthan aura, among other things)... I do like using them. I feel that mixing and matching can really add a feel of uniqueness to a character's appearance.

When it comes to dabbling with 15k Armour though I tend to be a bit more wary. The ONLY character I have actually mix-and-matched 15k Armour with so far is my Monk (Hyun Cho Min).... who has 15k Kurzick chest and leg pieces but 15k Luxon hands and feet (and a 1.5k Canthan headpiece that can't be seen beneath her hair anyway). It actually looks good IMHO:

(Note: If you're wondering why it is pink / mauve... you can see the Guild Cape in the first half of the pic. Guild Colours basically. It is standard for most of my characters).

Aside from that though, I haven't been brave enough to risk any.

I'm considering doing something like this to an even greater extreme when my warrior eventually gets her LDoA title and gets out of Pre-Searing Ascalon. The problem I've been having is: What would go well with a Canthan 15k Warrior Cuirass? I want a generally draconic theme to her... but I need it to match up well (i.e. not look like a total clown outfit), both in shape, colour and potential dye tones. Furthermore I need something that does NOT clip through shields... which puts Ancient gloves / boots right out of the question, as does it put GW:EN Dragon Gauntlets out. Unless I'm planning on making that her hammer armour, I will not be able to full draconic her.

That brings in another matter: Monument Armor. I was also considering getting her Monument Armor, after considering a Monument Helmet to go with the 15k Canthan chest-piece.... but the skirty thing with a piece of ripped tartan down one leg is HIDEOUS.... so is there some sort of alternative that could be put in its place and not look totally wrong?


Also... if you have any other good suggestions for 15k armour combos (to prevent monumental mess-ups).... please share them.

Hers some of my combos, I only use them on my War cause the others look good as they are.

Bought the Dragon Gauntlets, turns out to be a big mistake cause you cant really combine them with any armor without looking like a gorilla.




Wel.... this one used to be my favorite armor combo, till I was put in the "Ugliest Armor" forum.................

My new ranger with her old style armor mixed:

ancient mask, dragon gauntlets and all other pieces are from 15k drakescale
everything is dyed white, really cool in game to see!

I'm finally happy with the mix!
Took quite a long time, prolly spot some new interesting armor parts soon though...again
