Just a question, dont hate me
KillerGuitar666
hey guys, im not hating on assasins, but do you think they will ever find a "role" like other classes.Take tombs for instance, B/P is the usually the only group you will find, or the oro farming, you have the MM the warrior, the monk and who ever else,Ritualists have seemed to find uses as support, but i see a lot of things like "No assasins needed" or "If one more assasin wants to join i will quit guild wars". I do hope someone finds a sweet assasin solo build for farming anything

i doubt it. Until all the people that dont know how to use the assasin and think its a w/mo stop using it the assasins will forever be shunned upon worse than the mesmer

Their role is to lay down a massive spike on a single target then leave.
I honestly have no idea why that's so hard to figure out. =\

well maybe sin spike in pvp or sumfing? and they can copy stances and remove enchantments on hit...

Without some big changes in skills or in PvE, they won't have a role.

imo... Assassins are RA/TA gods :P
but in everything else they seem pretty useless atm

IMO it's down to the individual assasin to decide there role in a group , for me though i would take them if they can manage there aggro.
They need to be assisting the main tank in a group while still allowing the tank to get some adrenilin up.
I know there's many builds and playstyles but for me a good assassin is one that is aware of the group, aware of there limits and when to turn up the heat in those potentially dangerous situations.
As far as being in a party or not well they should have as much chance as the rest of the damage dealing professions .

The (Dagger) Assassin is a character capable of incredible damage in short bursts which tend to be separated by about fifteen-second intervals (recharge on Twisting Fangs). They work best when attacking isolated single targets - even a Warrior can be zonked but good by a properly prepared (Dagger) Assassin. No complaints, I've done it myself in RA/Alliance Battles.
Problem is, isolated single targets simply don't occur in PvE. You get great gadzooking mobs of bad guys that blitz in with no concept of positioning, and manage to disable most (Dagger)sin's best combos because of it. Don't even say Death Blossom at me, 70 AoE damage every twelve seconds is not killing things.
(Dagger) Assassins aren't really meant to take down PvE mobs. Good (Dagger)sins realize that and will simply do their best to find the odd isolated target and avoid dying. They're not wanted in PvE and never will be - I can't get a group to ave my life outside having a guildie form the PuG for me, and that gets old fast.
This all, of course, moot if you play the Bloody Barrage type sin.

The only role I've found for my assassin: solo farming Daggers of Xuekao. Despite the recent addition of extra Ahm Fa extras around him, my assassin still owns Xuekao and his new lackeys

Chkkr Locust Lord gets pwned too. Assassins seem to be very good at killing Assassin bosses .

Sins are designed for more cordinated dmg spikes. Alone they usually do not kill a single target with 1 combo chain. With a few friends they will kill quickly.
Since PvE has no cordination at all I dought you will see them wanted any more than they are now. Mesmers acually have a role. They can disrupt dmg which in turn helps the monk. A sin is a dmg sponge most of the time. Since the AI is getting smarter (i've noticed they do cordinated spikes) I don't think there is much you can do about it till in game voice chat is added.
And in recent news VoiP cost are going up so Anet might shun the idea of spending more money on a game with no monthly fees.

a 3 skill chain combo probably won't do it but a 7 skill chain combo probably will (Jagged-->Fox Fangs---> Horns of Ox---> Falling Spider---> Twisted fangs--->Mob Strike--->Blades of Steel) However ya thats probably isn't a good idea.
From what I see asssassins in PvE need good block/evade stances or tele skills. My A/Me that I use in RA with distortion works great there and mybe it would work in PvE too.
My guild likes assassins and they seem to work well. The only thing is they req skill and timing.
