15k Armor typically refers to Ascended Armor. Occasionally some people use the term to mean both Ascended Armor and Obsidian Armor, as they have identical gold costs. 15k armor is another version of armor, with different graphics. It has the same stats as Armor as its Droknar's Forge made counterpart. Its pretty much a moneysink, but it does tend to look better.

b/o = buyout, like eBay's "Buy it Now" its used to end an auction.

Unique items ("green" items) are items named after the in-game characters they have previously belonged to (In the storyline).
Unique items...
* cannot be dyed
* cannot be salvaged
* cannot be upgraded
* can be customized by a weaponsmith
* Will sell for a fixed price of 35 gold at a merchant (or 42 gold after identification).
* Come in an assortment of requirements and damage levels.
There are two types of unique items in Chapter 1:
* Unique items in Sorrow's Furnace, Grenth's Footprint and Prophet's Path are named after the bosses that drop them. Each dwarven boss has a set of 3 items.
* Unique items in the Ruins of the Tomb of the Primeval Kings drop from the final bosses in that area known as the Darknesses. The items are all named after dead kings or lords, except for Illyana whose identity is currently unknown. It is possible that the owners were all Ghostly Heroes who fell during the takeover of the tombs, or were just buried in the tombs with their weapons.
* Factions greens get their name from the boss again, but they drop in low level areas as well (with matching lower stats).

Using an Expert Salvage Kit on items like those (most salvage have a chance be "runed") will destroy the salvage item like normal, and give you the rune. (So a Charr Armor of Major Vigor will give you a Major Vigor Rune)
As far as items go, people tend to only want the best, and "the best" means perfect. They want those +30 Health a lot more than those +27's. While, really 3 HP will never save you, a +27 is damn near worthless.
Best bet, if its got a perfect mod but the item isn't perfect, salvage and hope.
If its a perfect item (that you can use) with junk mods, hold on to it. A 15^50 (15^50 is shorthand for +15% damage while over 50% HP) req 9 fellblade you find will be a lot cheaper for you to upgrade than buying a perfect one.
EDIT: This site will answer pretty much every basic question you have.
