Need Official word on the lag.

I know there is lag and a ton of err=7's going around, take a look at the tech forums. But it would be nice to know that a.net at least knows about this to give most of us hope. I for one have had more lag and more err=7's than the entire year of owning the original Guild Wars. The game is unplayable at the moment and it is happening to alot of people.

Before you logged into the GW client, there should have been a notice on the right side mentioning something about Network Maintenance today from 3-6PM PDT. It said something about affecting a small percentage of players (if I remembered correctly).

Maybe that has something to do with it. I'm currently receiving no lag or error7's.

Been having this lag for more than one day, had it atleast the last 2 or 3 days.

But if the network maintenance fixes it, then I am really joyful.

The lag has been around for almost 2 weeks or so, and its been getting progressivly worse over the last 4 days... to the point of Error 07's, 05's and others...

Yeah I get the occasional err7, but that's all thanks to my buggery firewall... it's waaay to overprotective of me... Though I wont regret it nor would i turn it off^^.

i have made several LA to ascalon city runs with no lag

the game is working dandy for some, but for others it is not working out so well.

Some people are having problems with casting spells, taking 1 to 2 seconds to activate, some are having issues with just normal lag, and some with err=7's constantly.

But here is the problem, I have all 3, and it is very annoying.

And every problem people say that causes err=7's is not on my side.

-I am not running on a router so no firewall or port problems
-windows firewall is disabled
-No virus protection (uninstalled to see if it would help, nothing)
-NO programs running in the background, none at all.
-Tested internet speed and I am running at a clean 3mb's

Exact same problem here. And after a week of ncsoft support getting me to try useless stuff against my PC and then running their tracking tools (which clearly shows packet loss at their end) they have told me to get in touch with my ISP to try to resolve THEIR issues. Luckily for me, I saw Serious Sam 2 on sale today so I will be taking a break from Guild Wars for quite a while now.

Walk walk walk FREEZE FOR 30 seconds.
Fight fight fight FREEZE for god knows how long.
That's how bad the lag is for me now.

Yeah, I've been getting horrid lag for the past few weeks, and these past few days have been riddled with err=7s. I got 18 yesterday in one 4 hour play time :/

It had been fine for me but its getting worse by the day, even on times when the server load is down. Somethings up.

I don't experience rubber band lagg or any thing worse then slow loading; but thats just my computer and its crappy RAM. The worse I ever experience, which has now been fixed, would be the random disconnect while trying to load a map... how annoying that was

I've noticed that it's been only a little worse for me, maybe the occasional longer load times and 15 sec lag, but it really hasn't been that much of a problem for me. I haven't received any err7s either.. But I'll log on to see.

My connection's usually pretty stable and I normally don't have any problems. However, a few days ago, I started to lag very badly (half a minute delays, etc.). The only thing that changed on my computer was a GW update, so I re-installed GW and GW re-downloaded a bunch of updates and everything was ok afterwards.

This has happened to me a couple of times in the past with certain updates...don't know if this helps anyone else.

Welll its nice to know it wasn't just my crew last night. My husband, brother, and myself run on the same lines so a little lag is understandable but last night it would freeze for 10secs and then go on smooth and FREEZE and then smooth and poor Redly goes... I CAN'T HEAL ANYTHING!
We were doing Altrumm Ruins last night and our last 3 matches were just so frozen that if we hadn't had a great team with us I doubt we would have made the top 10 like we did. We tried a full system reboot on our end and at first it seemed to work - we were running even more smoothly - THE FREEZE - so we determined that the freezing wasn't our fault.

Just so bloody annoying >_<

i'm staying in a campus with internet speed of constant T1 ---> 1mbps or more. Yet I do admit that even with our server there is still some lagging.

I think it's due to the bandwith of your connection --- how much of internet coverage your computer have... if anyone knows what I'm talking about. That's why they say turn off things like Ares and Limewire and those peer-to-peer programs since they take a LOT of bandwith and consequently produce lagging and decrease in connection speed.
And what do we have?? Guild Wars is OBVIOUSLY a peer-to-peer program --- requiring an enormous bandwith since you're interacting with the 3D world and the players online.
That's why even with a Local Area Network powered by servers (save high-speed home connections) there is going to be *a bit of lag*...

My lag only happens in factions---I can play in prophecies just fine (ok, last ring of fire mission is a little slow at the begining), some areas of cantha have as much as 10 second lag (I am following someone I see only 1 step/5-10seconds and forget about DOING anything)....I know part of it is my computer, but I also have the err7 going on too...ever since factions went online..............its annoying to say the least.
I am building a new computer so I hope it helps with the lag, but the err7 I can do nothing about

yup ive been getting the same problems, prophecies works fine on this comp but factions seems to have problems im going to upgrade the RAM soon and see if that fixes it but even on my other computer ive occasionally had moments where nothing happens - no skills work, no enemies move, i cant move but i can click around and my char will spin on the spot then suddenly it will work again like 10 - 20 seconds later..

Hmm.. I'll have to try reinstalling and see if that helps any.
