What's the point in holding towns? Isn't ANET going to make another way into the elite missions?

Only holding the capitals gives access to the Elite Missions, and yes, there have been statements made that they are looking into alternate ways into those missions.

The other reason to hold a town is that there's a special merchant behind the doors that only members of that aliance can get to. He gives a 20% discount on most items.

Well when ANet makes an alternate way, the holding alliance gets in for free so to speak, they wont need to go through whatever the alternate makes you do.

well they dont have to pvp all day and night. its would juist be better to farm all day and night because holding a town pretty much only gives you merch discount and elite missions (which arent that much to speak of) but i think they should make an alternastive way

but if u are holding a town then u will have people challenging to have it, so does this mea u can just decline all challenges cause then u would never let the town go?
so surely u must have to face every challenge and i only sed that u would have to be pvp all night and day if they was only one town for evry continent not district

Towns are aquired through the aquisition of Faction points, of either the Luxon or Kurzick types. The game automagically gives you the town should your guilds/alliances points exceed those needed to take the town.
