Chests open/rare item ratio info

I haven't seen a thread like this yet but if there is one please feel free to close this or merge them etc. I recently got to level 4 in treasure hunter title and the amounts of rares I have identified is pretty low, a dismal 37.6%. I wish I'd kept track of how much of that 37.6% went to the merchant also lol.



I know you get the odd rare drop from monsters but most usually come out of chests unless you have found the ultimate farming spot and would like to share it with me .

Some background info if anyone is interested:
This basically started with me having 10 darkstone keys left over in storage, thought I'd use them up saying the decent drop rate was improved as factions was released. I happened to get 9 crap drops and a shiny glimmering req 12 15>50 Mursaat Hornbow that I rapidly sold for 100k. I was also lucky enough to be in a guild with an alliance that was holding a town. So out of that 100k, I thought what the hell and put 96k back into keys (for 200 Luxon keys at 480g each - special town holder price), I quickly found that you are pretty much guaranteed to at least make your money back unless you are really unlucky within that 200 keys. After I started making some money I kinda got carried away and ended up with the total chests opened that I have now hehe.

Anyway, whats your chests open/rare item ratio?

i opened 100 for that one title. i can say it was 1 in 10 being perfect. 7 out 10 gold. 5 out of 10 having good mods and out of them 5, 1 or 2 being perfect... got close to what i spent on keys. but i believe over all i didn't make what i spent on keys.

Last 6 kurzick chests all purple - bad luck.

i believe it, i got about 36 golds if i remember correctly out of the 100 runs i did. I think that there is an actual ratio of how many times you get golds.

and to seef, my best streak of purple chests on chest runs is 8, beat that!

Chest runs are better done in a group. You all alternate using the keys. That way its cheaper for all of you when you hit a purple chest.

Hehe yeah I know, seems every time I touch a chest I turn it purple, some of my guildies tell me off if I go near unused chests as if I curse them or something lol. Alot of these came from running faction before they made the quests harder which I just did when I was bored. I always try and play through quests with henchies only so I can take my time, so I don't get a choice about who opens those chests. Making a group would get alot less purples per person overall but alot of the time I couldn't be bothered to wait to get a group sorted, still find it fun though so I'm not really bothered that the percentage is that low

I am going to give up with this title though, once I got to level 3 I wanted to max it out (another reason for opening as many as I could solo) but the amount of chests needed per next level is starting to get rediculous and the repetative nature of it is getting boring. You can at least easily make your money back with the upgrades/weapon sales though but it's alot of grind. The rare item identifying title really looks like it will be the most time consuming, hats off to anybody who gets that one finished any time soon. I haven't checked if the amounts needed per level are the same as in the treasure hunter title but if they are then good luck to anyone trying to max that one out lol.

When factions first came out I immidiately found a nice chest run place which yielded 4 high end chests and took about 7 min of running solo. At first ratio was about 2.5 gold to 1.5 purple, best items I found were 10/10 staff, 15^50 axe, 15 in stance sword and a few other similar things, lately ratio is 1 gold to about 6 purples, so I abandoned this run and not bothering farming anymore.

Is there any reward for getting those titles? Like better chest drops for higher titles?

dunno wot the gold chest percentage on that is but ive made over 500k from it

If you open chests with a group your gold rate will be very high. Even if you chest run with 2 other people you will looking at 75%+ gold rate.

That involves Chest running FoW, Chest running Ice Floe (alone) and finding golds on missions/FoW trips normally. Luckily i've made around 100k on mods recently... so i'd guess i'm not losing anything on them.

where you guys normally chest run? prefer luxon areas or the kurzicks? so far for me.. getting very little items. which kinda sucks. all purples and even if they are gold, they aren't really that great

and thats with gold drops drops that have been ID. so i would say close to little over 1 out of 3 chests is gold.

lol, made 500k but you've also spent at LEAST 739k on keys (considering 600g/key min)

Anyways, I really want that title, but ya know.....too much investment money to start with, and I've never really liked the way seeker of wisdom sounds. I like Skill Hunter instead, its like asking to be blind invited by 50 ppl.

33 chests, 28 drops but I'm thinking about half the drops came from monsters (which is going to throw off this poll).

so far 10 opened, 4 golds I ran around witmans folley and got 2 golds and 4 purples, bu then I stocked up on elonian keys and so far 2 golds 2 purps. ANyone know a good place to run around in desert?
